Bake From Empty earns its place in the Blender library by targeting a specific gap: motion driven by an Empty couldn't easily leave Blender until it was baked onto the model, and this add-on handles that transfer in a few clicks.
Bake From Empty, developed by 3Z Axis, transfers animation from an Empty object to a model in Blender. It bakes location, rotation, scale, and visibility keyframes from the Empty onto the selected mesh, turning Empty-driven motion into keyframes stored on the model itself.
The add-on works whether the target is parented or constrained to the Empty or not connected at all. It supports visibility keyframes for both hide viewport and hide render, and lets you set a custom frame range or use the scene's default. Baked keyframes are created with smooth interpolation, and the process is non-destructive, adding new keyframes while preserving existing animation data.
Once the animation is baked into the model, it can be exported to other software with the animation intact, something that wasn't possible when the motion was controlled by the Empty. It requires Blender 3.0 or later, mesh objects as targets, and Empty objects as controllers.
Bake From Empty is best for animators, riggers, and 3D artists who need to bake Empty-controlled transformations onto a model and export the result to other software.
Bake From Empty is completely free to download and use.
Bake From Empty requires Blender 3.0 or later, so it runs on that release and newer versions. The add-on also expects specific object types to function: an Empty object acting as the animation controller, and a mesh object as the target model that receives the baked keyframes. As long as your scene uses an Empty to drive the transformations and a mesh to bake them onto, the setup matches the add-on's requirements. For confirmation on any newer Blender release, check the developer's page directly.
Bake From Empty works whether the target model is parented or constrained to the Empty or not connected to it at all. You select the Empty that controls the animation, then select the mesh that should receive it, set a frame range or use the scene's default, and run the bake. The add-on transfers location, rotation, scale, and visibility from the Empty to the model in both connected and independent cases, so no specific relationship between the two objects is needed beforehand.
Bake From Empty is non-destructive: it adds new baked keyframes to the model while preserving any existing animation data, so previous work isn't lost. The baked keyframes are created with smooth interpolation for natural transitions, and it also bakes visibility changes for both hide viewport and hide render alongside the location, rotation, and scale channels. You can define a custom frame range for the bake or fall back to the scene's frame range, giving you control over which frames get baked.
Bake From Empty is listed as free here in our catalog. Pricing on marketplaces can change over time, so for the most current licensing terms it's best to check the developer's page directly. Functionally, the add-on covers baking location, rotation, scale, and visibility from an Empty to a model, support for connected and independent models, custom frame ranges, smooth interpolation, and a non-destructive workflow, along with the ability to export the baked animation to other software.
