Blecolac earns its place in the superhive library by covering CNC drilling, laser engraving, laser cutting and 3D printing from a single Blender addon.
Blecolac is a Blender addon from Gabor Horvath that generates G-code from 3D objects. It works with any type of carving drill and offers wide configuration for sizes, origins, fine and pass, and it can also cut bezier paths.
On the laser side, the addon handles image engraving and cutting, including a bottle tool for cutting and engraving cylindrical objects. An inset solution fills with curves, and a built-in GCODE Viewer with GCode preview lets you check the last generated code. Beyond CNC and laser work, it supports direct 3D printing from Blender, with a later option to access the printer over http.
Blecolac is compatible with Blender 2.93 and the 3.x series through 3.6, and it installs on both Linux and Windows. It is GPL licensed. A demo video is available.
Blecolac - 3Dprinter Cnc/Laser Gcode Exporter/Controller Blender 3D Addon is best for blender users who need to generate G-code for CNC drilling, laser engraving and cutting, or 3D printing from their 3D objects.
Blecolac - 3Dprinter Cnc/Laser Gcode Exporter/Controller Blender 3D Addon is completely free to download and use.
Blecolac lists compatibility with Blender 2.93 and the 3.x series through 3.6, covering versions 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6. Blender 3.0 compatibility was added in an earlier release, and the addon has continued through later updates. If you run one of these versions, you should be able to install and use it. For anything outside this range, check the developer's page for the current supported list before installing it into your setup.
Blecolac ships with a Linux and Windows compatible install, and a bug affecting installation was resolved in an earlier version. That means you can set it up on either operating system before generating G-code from your Blender objects. macOS is not mentioned, so if you work on a Mac, confirm on the developer's page whether it will run in your environment before relying on it for a project or a print job.
Blecolac can generate G-code and send it directly to your printer, and it supports direct 3D printing from Blender. A later update added the option to access the printer over http, alongside rewritten printing code. So beyond exporting G-code for CNC drilling or laser work, you can drive a connected 3D printer from within Blender. Check the developer's page for details on setting up the connection to your specific machine.
Blecolac is listed as free here in our catalog. Its license is noted as GPL, which is Blender's own license family. Pricing and terms can change over time, so if you want to confirm the current cost, license conditions or any support arrangements, check the developer's page directly. That page is also the best place to reach Gabor Horvath with questions before you download and start using the addon in your workflow.
