A practical pick in the Superhive library for artists who want to compare and fine-tune Cycles lighting from one panel, with a free Lite version and a full Ultimate version available.
Blender Light Mixer gives Blender artists a single panel to mix, tint and manage lighting in Cycles. It automatically detects scene lights — Point, Area, Spot and Sun — along with HDRI world backgrounds and emission materials on mesh objects. Each light source gets its own intensity slider and color picker, so you can adjust and compare lighting without digging through the outliner. Instanced lights are grouped by source rather than duplicated, and emission objects sharing a material are grouped together too, keeping the list uncluttered.
Tinting is non-destructive: you can warm a key light or cool a fill without touching the original light settings. A solo and mute system lets you isolate or toggle any light, with a color swatch shown in the list. A preset system saves and loads lighting setups, and HDRI can be swapped directly from the panel. Under the hood, the addon builds real compositor nodes — Value, Multiply, Color and Add — which you can open and inspect.
One-click actions include Reset, All Off, All = 1 and a Render button. A built-in Compositor Denoise is designed to work with Light Groups. The addon comes in a full Ultimate version and a free Lite version limited to two lights.
Blender Light Mixer is best for arch-viz artists, cinematic lighters, game artists and product visualizers working in Blender Cycles.
Blender Light Mixer is completely free to download and use.
Blender Light Mixer is built for Cycles only. It detects scene lights, HDRI world backgrounds and emission materials in a Cycles scene and builds real compositor nodes to control them non-destructively. The addon runs on Blender 4.x and 5.x across Windows, Mac and Linux. Because its workflow relies on Light Groups and the Cycles pipeline, it is not designed for other render engines, so plan on using Cycles when working with the addon.
Blender Light Mixer comes in two editions. The free Lite version supports up to two lights, shows locked lights in red, and does not include presets or HDRI swap. The Ultimate version adds unlimited lights, emission detection, HDRI swap, the save and load preset system, smart denoise, instance grouping and all future updates. If you need to manage more than two lights or want preset-based mood switching, the Ultimate version covers those features.
Blender Light Mixer includes a built-in Compositor Denoise designed to work with Light Groups, which the standard Cycles denoiser conflicts with. The addon handles this automatically and can be toggled on or off with one click. This ties into the addon's node-based approach, which builds real compositor nodes — Value, Multiply, Color and Add — that you can open and inspect in the compositor rather than relying on anything hidden.
Blender Light Mixer is listed as free here through its Lite version, which supports up to two lights and shows locked lights in red without presets or HDRI swap. The full Ultimate version unlocks unlimited lights, emission detection, HDRI swap, presets, smart denoise, instance grouping and future updates. For current licensing details and the exact terms of each version, check the developer's page before downloading.
