Bounding Box earns its place in the superhive library as a focused utility: Blender's Item panel only reports the dimensions of the primary selected object, and this add-on fills that gap by wrapping and measuring several selected objects at once.
Bounding Box is a Blender add-on from Dennis Hafemann that adds an "Add → Mesh → Bounding Box" operator to the 3D Viewport in Object Mode. Select one or more objects, run the operator, and it wraps a mesh box around them, then exposes a Redo/Operator panel for adjusting the result instead of building and resizing a cube by hand.
From that panel you can toggle selection between the box and the original objects, control viewport and render visibility, set the display style (in front, above the objects, wireframe or solid), and tune the offset. A one-click Add Atmosphere Material option applies a simple Volume Scatter volume material. Three geometry nodes modifiers extend it further: Resizing and Shrinkwrapping keep the box wrapped as objects move, linking them into a hidden collection, and Show Dimensions displays the box's measurements in the scene.
Installation uses a downloadable .zip file: drag and drop it into newer Blender versions, or install manually via Settings → Add-ons in older ones. The bundled modifiers are marked as assets for use through the asset browser.
Bounding Box (Addon) is best for blender users who need a box wrapped around multiple objects or want the combined dimensions of a multi-object asset rather than a single object.
Bounding Box (Addon) is completely free to download and use.
Bounding Box installs from a downloadable .zip file. In newer versions of Blender you can drag and drop the zip directly into the application, while older versions require installing it manually through Settings → Add-ons. The three included geometry nodes modifiers are marked as assets, so you can also extract the zip into your asset library path and pull them into a scene through Blender's asset browser whenever you need them.
Bounding Box adds an operator under 3D Viewport, Object Mode → Add → Mesh → Bounding Box. Select the objects you want wrapped, run the operator, then open the Redo/Operator panel to adjust settings such as selection, viewport and render visibility, in front and display style, parenting, offset, the atmosphere material, dynamic resizing, shrinkwrapping, and showing dimensions. This wraps a mesh box around the selected objects instead of building and resizing a cube by hand.
Bounding Box ships with three geometry nodes modifiers: the Resizing Bounding Box Modifier, the Shrinkwrap Multiple Modifier, and the Show Dimensions Modifier. Resizing and shrinkwrapping keep the box wrapped around the selected objects as you move them, linking those objects into a newly created hidden collection. All three are marked as assets, so you can extract them into your asset library path and add them to a scene through Blender's asset browser. The Shrinkwrap Multiple modifier is also available separately.
Bounding Box includes a Show Dimensions modifier, a simple geometry nodes modifier that displays the bounding box's dimensions directly in the scene. This helps because Blender's Item panel only reports the dimensions of the primary selected object, not the combined size of several selected objects. When an asset is made of multiple objects across multiple collections, the add-on wraps them in one box so you can read the overall dimensions rather than measuring each object individually.
Bounding Box is listed as free here in the catalog. Licensing and any purchase terms can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current details before you download. The distribution is a .zip file, and it also bundles three geometry nodes modifiers marked as assets that you can add through Blender's asset browser. A demo video is available if you want to see more before installing it.
