Clean Mesh is a Blender add-on from Cobox for refining 3D models. It removes unnecessary vertices, edges, and faces, aligns inconsistent normals, and produces cleaner geometry for characters, environments, and other mesh types. The add-on only optimizes by removing errors, leaving the original mesh intact.
Its menus target specific problems. Vertex removal clears points left in mid-air or accidentally extruded, Edges handles stray extruded edges and vertices sitting mid-edge without a defined end, and Face removes open faces that never close, such as loops that aren't fully closed. Normals reorients normal direction and adjusts their size. Full Analyze eliminates all errors in a single click based on configured preferences, while options like Mesh Only, Positive Normals, Negative Normals, and Open objects control how much is corrected. Analyze object checks for errors, View shows problems before removal, and Correct removes them.
Correction time varies with the model's vertex count and your machine, and Blender may freeze while the add-on works. The developer advises waiting rather than closing it. A demo video is available, and the entry is listed here as free.
