Cloth Weaver earns its place in the superhive library for pairing a broad template set with a custom sewing workflow and procedural fabric materials in Blender.
Cloth Weaver is a Blender add-on from Xanderak, LLC for building clothing and accessories on 3D characters and in scenes. It comes with a library of templates spanning tops, bottoms, formal wear, swimwear, underwear, accessories and fabrics, split into an Ultimate set of 29 templates and a Basic set of 9.
For custom pieces, you create a clothing outline, set up the sections to be sewn together, and Cloth Weaver takes over the rest in a few buttons. It keeps a backup of your outline for quick troubleshooting and adjusting, and its built-in procedural material can produce a range of photo-realistic fabrics using the supplied patterns and textures or your own.
You can save designs to an external location and reload them into a custom gallery, and import other artists' clothing. Additional tools include Backup/Restore, a Reflect option that mirrors clothing on the Z-axis, and Reset UVs. It works with any character that can be imported into Blender.

Cloth Weaver works with any character that can be imported into Blender, including FBX, 3DS, OBJ and DAE files. Characters work best with a lower polygon count, since extremely dense meshes can slow down the cloth simulation, and it's recommended to remove any subdivision modifiers before importing. Known compatible character libraries include Avastar, Blender, Daz3D, IMVU, Make Human, Manuel Bastioni Lab and Poser, though compatibility isn't limited to those.
Cloth Weaver simplifies custom clothing by having you create a clothing outline and set up the sections to be sewn together, then it takes over the rest in just a few buttons. It also creates a backup of your outline, which enables quick troubleshooting and adjusting. Keep in mind that fitting clothes can be a trial-and-error process. Cloth Weaver shows an alert in the top status panel when updates are available for download, and you can download new updates directly within the Cloth Weaver panel. This removes the need to open a web browser, log in to a web portal and download manually, so you can grab new releases without leaving Blender. The download package includes several versions, covering v4.94, v4.96, v4.97 and v5.0.

The add-on comes from Xanderak, LLC, ships with both the Ultimate and Basic template sets, and includes a Discord community you can join for support and discussion.
