A narrowly focused add-on for a repetitive job: naming and setting paths across many File Output nodes at once. The predefined $pass, $numbering and $InputedText functions, along with support for short single-line Python, cover both automatic and custom naming.
Custom Output File Manager is a Blender add-on for setting output paths on File Output nodes. When a compositor holds many nodes, it renames images across all of them and lets you configure multiple file output nodes at the same time. A set of basic setting words is listed from the start, and you can customise them as needed.
Custom setting words begin with a "$", and each entry lets you specify the word to input; single-line short Python code is also accepted. A list view brings these together, where you set descriptions, the specified "$" words, and the replacement text or short Python code for each.
Three predefined functions are included. $pass automatically retrieves and sets the render layer output slot name, $numbering adds numbering based on the number of digits specified after the "#" symbol, and $InputedText copies and assigns the original name. It works with Blender 3.6, 4.2 and 4.3, and is distributed under the GPL license.
Custom Output File Manager is best for blender users managing many File Output nodes who want to rename images and set output paths across nodes at once.
Custom Output File Manager is completely free to download and use.
Custom Output File Manager lists compatibility with Blender 4.3, 4.2 and 3.6, so those three releases are covered. It is a Blender add-on of the extension type and is marked as Blender Extension compatible. If you run a version outside that range, check the developer's page before installing, since compatibility beyond the listed builds isn't stated. Within those versions, it handles File Output node paths and the renaming features as described, including configuring multiple file output nodes at once.
Custom Output File Manager includes three predefined functions. $pass automatically retrieves and sets the render layer output slot name. $numbering adds numbering based on the number of digits you specify after the "#" symbol. $InputedText copies and assigns the original name. Alongside these, you can define your own custom setting words by adding a "$" to the beginning, then specify the word to be input, with single-line short Python code also accepted. These entries are managed in a list view where you set descriptions and replacement text.
Custom Output File Manager can configure multiple file output nodes simultaneously, which helps when you're managing many nodes. It renames images across those nodes rather than editing each one on its own. A list view collects the settings, letting you assign descriptions, the specified "$" words, and the replacement text or short single-line Python code for each entry. Predefined basic setting words are listed from the start, and you can customise them as needed. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license.
Custom Output File Manager is listed as free here, and it is distributed under the GPL license. Licensing and any seat or team arrangements can change, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you rely on them. On the software side, it is a Blender add-on of the extension type, marked as Blender Extension compatible, and supports Blender 4.3, 4.2 and 3.6. That combination covers both the licensing question and the versions you can install it on.
