Why we like it

Stands out in the superhive library for turning a folder of .blend files into one export run, with filtering, per-folder output, optional zipping, and logging built in.

What is Directory Batch Exporter?

Directory Batch Exporter handles bulk exports across many .blend files at once. Point it at a root directory, choose a file format, and press the Export All button; it recursively finds all .blend files within that directory and its sub-folders. Supported formats include .fbx, .obj, .glb, .gltf, .usd, .abc, .stl, and .ply.

Filtering Settings let you specify which filenames and folders to ignore or only include. Output Settings control whether files export to the source directory of each .blend file or to a specified sub-folder, with an option to zip each sub-folder automatically after export. Operator Preset Selection lets you pick a saved preset for a given format, and a button opens that format's export window so you can manage your presets. Setup Memory retains recently used root directories along with the filenames and folders from your Filtering Settings for each root directory used.

Logging generates text files summarizing which files were processed, how long the process took, and how many exported successfully or not. The add-on works with Blender 4.5 through 5.1 and is released under the GPL license.

You choose one file format, point the add-on at a root directory, and press the Export All button, and it recursively finds all .blend files within that directory and its sub-folders before exporting them in the selected format. If you have saved operator presets, you can also select which preset to use for a given format, and a button opens that format's export window so you can manage them.

Which Blender versions does Directory Batch Exporter support?

Directory Batch Exporter lists compatibility with Blender 4.5 through 5.1 and is marked as Blender Extension compatible. Note that its November 27, 2025 update removed the .dae option because .dae support was removed in Blender 5.0.0. Does Directory Batch Exporter still support .dae export?

If you still need to export .dae files, legacy support is available in version 1.0.0 of the add-on, which is included in the files bundled for this add-on. For everything else, the add-on continues to support .fbx, .obj, .glb, .gltf, .usd, .abc, .stl, and .ply as export formats.
