Dynamic Terrain is an add-on for Blender aimed at speeding up terrain creation and landscaping. It reduces the need to navigate geometry nodes, node shaders, and node groups, giving faster access to settings so artists can generate landscapes quickly.
Parameters can be adjusted with real-time changes for experimentation and iteration. Procedural textures can be applied and manipulated to produce varied terrains, and assets such as rocks and trees can be integrated into scenes. Weight paint gives control over asset distribution, and lakes and rivers can be customized through edit mode or geometry proximity. The simplified interface is meant to be accessible to beginners and experienced users, with applications spanning game environments and animations.
The add-on uses the Cycles render engine and supports Blender versions 3.6 through 5.0 under a GPL license. Version 1.0.6 added baking from procedural textures to PBR textures and improved rock textures. A demo video is available on the developer's page.
