Why we like it

Easy Camera Matcher earns its place in the Superhive library for bringing an fSpy-style camera-matching workflow directly into Blender, extended with lens undistortion and scene reconstruction.

What is Easy Camera Matcher?

Easy Camera Matcher reconstructs a 3D scene from a photo, adds 3D elements to footage, and matches real-world camera perspectives inside Blender. You load your image or video, draw perspective lines, set the world origin and scale, and the camera position, rotation, focal length and lens shift are automatically calculated to match your source. When you add 3D objects, their perspective and scale line up with the footage, and the camera updates in real time as you draw.

The add-on can solve photos with one, two or three perspective axes, handle parallel axes, and correctly set lens shift on cropped photos. It reconstructs a 3D scene with your image projected onto the geometry, and it can remove lens distortion from footage using accurate parameters and guide lines, then save an undistorted image. Scale can be matched using a person or a cube.

Inspired by fSpy, Easy Camera Matcher brings that camera-matching workflow directly into Blender. It was created as a step for object tracking: after matching the camera here, the developer's Easy Camera Tracker and Polychase add-ons can track moving objects in 3D. Keyboard shortcuts, a clean UI and visual guides support the process.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender versions does Easy Camera Matcher support?

Easy Camera Matcher works with Blender 4.3 or newer and is listed as Blender 5.2 ready, with compatible versions noted from 4.3 through 5.0. It is a Blender extension-compatible add-on. If you run an older release than 4.3, you will need to update Blender before using it. Check the developer's page for the latest version details and to confirm compatibility with your specific Blender build before installing.

Does Easy Camera Matcher run on Mac and Linux?

Easy Camera Matcher runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, so it fits across the three main desktop platforms Blender supports. Because it is delivered as a Blender add-on, you install it through Blender itself rather than as a standalone program. For any platform-specific setup notes or requirements, refer to the developer's page, which lists the supported operating systems and current release information.

How does Easy Camera Matcher relate to fSpy and object tracking?

Easy Camera Matcher is inspired by fSpy, so users familiar with that tool will recognise the perspective-based camera matching, now available inside Blender. The add-on was created as a step for object tracking: once the camera is matched here, the developer's Easy Camera Tracker add-on and the Polychase add-on can be used to track moving objects in 3D for a visual effects shot. Matching the camera first is required before that tracking stage.

Is Easy Camera Matcher free?

Easy Camera Matcher is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing and pricing can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current terms before downloading. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license. A demo video is also available if you want to see the workflow before installing, and the developer welcomes feature requests and feedback.
