Why we like it

Stands out in the superhive library for pulling Blender's scattered camera settings into one quick-access popup, and for running on built-in Blender libraries with no external dependencies.

What is Easycam?

EasyCam is a Blender addon that consolidates camera management into a single popup called the Camera Quick Box, built with expandable sections for navigating each group of controls. It brings together focal length, lens shift, and clipping distances alongside aperture settings, depth of field, motion blur, display options, composition guides, color management, and rendering output, cutting down the clicks needed to adjust a shot.

Depth of field controls let you toggle the effect, pick a focus object or set focus distance in Blender units, and display a semi-transparent focus plane in the viewport that updates in real time and adapts to FOV and render aspect ratio. A Cycles-only Enhance Bokeh subsection adds enable, auto-size across an 8mm to 500mm range, intensity, and manual size options, while aperture controls cover F-stop, blade count, rotation, and ratio for shaping bokeh.

It also handles output, from resolution and frame range to file format and FFMPEG settings, with quick buttons to render a single frame or a full animation. Camera Saves bookmark positions per camera, and a switcher lists all scene cameras for quick swapping. EasyCam uses only built-in Blender libraries and needs no external dependencies.

Who is Easycam best for?

Easycam is best for 3D artists, virtual photographers, and animators working with complex camera setups, including cinematic shots, architectural visualizations, and product renders.

How much does Easycam cost?

Easycam is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Does EasyCam's bokeh work in Eevee or only in Cycles?

EasyCam's Enhance Bokeh subsection is exclusive to Cycles. Within it you can enable EasyCam's bokeh for added defocus realism, auto-size it based on focal length across an 8mm to 500mm range, adjust its intensity through an alpha value from 0 to 1, or set the size manually when auto-size is off. The broader depth of field controls, including enabling DOF, choosing a focus object, and setting focus distance in Blender units, remain available regardless of render engine, but the enhanced bokeh options themselves only apply when rendering in Cycles.

What Blender version does EasyCam's white balance need?

EasyCam includes white balance controls that require Blender 4.3 or later. When available, you can enable white balance and tweak Temperature in Kelvin and Tint, with indicators showing whether the result reads as Warm, Neutral, or Cool. These sit within EasyCam's Color Management section alongside View Transform and Look presets such as Filmic and Standard, plus a global Exposure adjustment. On earlier Blender versions the temperature and tint options are not present, though the other color management controls still apply.

Does EasyCam require any external dependencies to install?

EasyCam relies only on built-in Blender libraries and integrates without external dependencies, so there is nothing extra to install alongside it. The developer describes it as lightweight. All of its controls live in a customizable popup menu called the Camera Quick Box, which uses expandable sections for navigation across camera settings, aperture, depth of field, motion blur, display, composition guides, color management, output, and camera saves. For full setup details and documentation, check the developer's page.

Are EasyCam's saved camera positions shared across all cameras?

EasyCam's Camera Saves store camera positions as bookmarks that are camera-specific rather than global. The saved list is filtered per camera, so each camera keeps its own set. A single click recalls a saved position and switches to that camera's view, a double click renames the save, Refresh updates it with the current position, and X deletes it. A separate camera switcher at the bottom shows the active camera with a dropdown to switch between all scene cameras, marking the active one with a checkmark.

Is EasyCam free to use?

EasyCam is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing terms and any usage conditions, check the developer's page, since terms can change over time. The addon covers camera settings, aperture and depth of field, Cycles bokeh, motion blur, display and composition guides, color management, output controls, and position bookmarks, all reachable from a single popup panel in Blender. A demo video is also available if you want to see more before installing.
