Enhanced Camera Tools earns its place in the superhive library by turning repetitive camera setup into reusable presets, with batch apply and one-click reset for multi-camera scenes. It is currently in stable release, with more updates noted as on the way.
Enhanced Camera Tools is a Blender addon from McCamish Studios that manages camera settings through reusable presets. It is aimed at filmmakers, 3D artists, and animators, and all of its tools sit in the Camera tab of the 3D View Sidebar (N-Panel).
The core of the addon is presets. You can save a selected camera's settings—including lens type, focal length, lens unit, shift, clipping ranges, depth of field, safe area, viewport display, and composition guides—under a named preset. From there you can load a preset as a new camera, apply it to an already selected camera without creating a new one, or batch apply it to several selected cameras at once.
Beyond presets, the addon resets a camera to Blender's default settings with a single click, sets the selected camera as the active one for rendering, and adjusts focal length from a list of predefined presets. It is currently in stable release.
Enhanced Camera Tools - Goodbye To Constantly Setting The Same Camera Options is best for filmmakers, 3D artists, and animators who repeatedly set up cameras in Blender and want reusable presets across projects and scenes.
Enhanced Camera Tools - Goodbye To Constantly Setting The Same Camera Options is completely free to download and use.
Enhanced Camera Tools installs like a standard Blender addon. Save the enhanced_camera_tools.zip file to your computer, then open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences. Open the Add-ons tab, click Install in the top-right corner, select the zip file, and confirm. Once it is installed, search for Enhanced Camera Tools in the add-ons list and tick the checkbox to enable it. Finally, click Save Preferences, unless autosave is on, so the addon stays active every time you launch Blender.
Enhanced Camera Tools places all of its controls in the Camera tab of the 3D View Sidebar, also known as the N-Panel. Press N on your keyboard to show or hide that panel. From there you can save a selected camera as a preset, import a saved preset as a new camera, apply a preset to the selected camera, batch apply a preset to several cameras, reset a camera, set the active camera for rendering, and adjust focal length using the built-in presets.
Enhanced Camera Tools includes a Batch Apply Presets function for exactly that. Select the cameras you want in the viewport, open the Camera Tools tab, click Batch Apply Presets, choose a saved preset, and confirm to apply it to all of them at once. This is one way the addon applies consistent settings across multiple cameras and scenes. Individually, you can also apply a preset to a single selected camera without creating a new one, or import a preset as a brand-new camera.
Enhanced Camera Tools saves a broad set of camera properties in each preset. That includes lens type, focal length, lens unit, shift, and clipping ranges, along with depth of field settings such as focus distance and aperture. It also captures safe area and viewport display settings plus composition guides. When you reset a camera instead, the addon returns focal length, lens type, clipping ranges, shift, depth of field, safe areas, viewport displays, and composition guides to Blender's defaults.
Enhanced Camera Tools is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page on superhive for the current details before you download. The addon is described as being in stable release, with more updates noted as on the way. Once you have it, you install it through Blender's Add-ons preferences and enable it from the add-ons list to start working with camera presets in the N-Panel.
