Why we like it

Stands out in the superhive library for folding Blender's selection tools into one gesture-driven button, with topology selection that reads loops, rings, coplanar faces and marks and carries through ngons and broken topology. Version 1.4 has added hard-edge contour select, Cross Select for tri and n-gon zones, and multi-loop and multi-ring bands, with support handled through the developer's Discord.

What is Flow Selection Pro?

Flow Selection Pro combines gestures, topology and live preview on a single button in Blender. The direction of an empty-space drag chooses Box, Lasso or Circle without picking a tool, and the modifiers work live while you draw. Box comes from dragging down past the ring, Lasso from dragging up, and Circle is a real brush you resize with a double left click. The same button also handles single-click and double-click selection and Tweak, which moves an element by dragging it, and it behaves the same on mouse, pen or trackpad.

In Edit Mode the drag direction reads the mesh topology, covering loops, rings, shortest paths, coplanar regions, checker patterns and marked edges. Gestures include Loop, Shortest Path, Coplanar flooding, Checker Deselect, Loop-Span, Boundary Loop, Marked-Edge and Marked Island, with everything previewing live and committing on release. This topology intelligence carries through ngons and broken topology where native selection gives up.

Single- and double-click behaviour is configurable per mode in Preferences, including click-to-toggle. You can clear a selection directly on the model, and an on-canvas readout shows your select mode and counts, warning when part of the selection has scrolled off-screen so hidden geometry isn't changed silently.

Who is Flow Selection Pro best for?

Flow Selection Pro is best for blender artists who select mesh elements constantly and want gesture-based Box, Lasso, Circle and topology selection on one button instead of switching between selection tools.

How much does Flow Selection Pro cost?

Flow Selection Pro is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Does Flow Selection Pro work in both Object and Edit Mode?

Flow Selection Pro's single-click and double-click selection work in both Object and Edit Mode, and you can set that behaviour per mode in Preferences. The topological gestures — loops, rings, shortest paths, coplanar regions, checker patterns and marks — run in Edit Mode, where the drag direction reads the mesh. Everything previews live and commits on release. Broader object-mode selection is listed on the roadmap, so more object-mode functionality is planned beyond the current single- and double-click support.

What selection gestures does Flow Selection Pro support in Edit Mode?

Flow Selection Pro reads your drag direction in Edit Mode to trigger a range of gestures. Loop comes from dragging an edge onto its neighbour, and Shortest Path from dragging onto a farther element. Coplanar floods a flat region, with a drag to widen the angle. Checker Deselect keeps an every-Nth pattern, Loop-Span grows a region strip by strip, and Boundary Loop follows a mesh boundary or hole. Marked-Edge selects every edge of a Seam, Sharp or Crease mark, and Marked Island selects a whole island fenced by marks.

Does Flow Selection Pro work with a pen or trackpad?

Flow Selection Pro behaves the same on mouse, pen or trackpad, so the gesture-based selection carries across input devices. An empty-space drag chooses Box, Lasso or Circle by direction, with Box from dragging down past the ring, Lasso from dragging up, and Circle as a real brush you resize with a double left click. Single-click, double-click and Tweak — dragging an element to move it — share the same button, keeping the whole selection workflow on one input.

How does Flow Selection Pro handle selections that scroll off-screen?

Flow Selection Pro shows a quiet on-canvas readout of your select mode and counts, and it speaks up when part of your selection has scrolled off-screen. A single click on that warning deselects exactly what you can't see, so an operation never silently changes hidden geometry. You can also clear a selection right on the model instead of hunting for empty space, even when zoomed in tight, which keeps the workflow on the mesh itself.

Is Flow Selection Pro free?

Flow Selection Pro is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing and any terms, check the developer's page, since details can change over time. The plugin is at version 1.4, with additions such as hard-edge contour select, Cross Select for tri and n-gon zones, and multi-loop and multi-ring bands landing from community feedback since launch. Support and bug reports are handled through the developer's Discord, and documentation is available.
