Foam earns its place for letting you assemble your own Blender interfaces from clickable bubbles without writing code, with layouts saved as text files that travel across versions and machines.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui is an add-on for building your own interfaces inside Blender without coding. You create bubbles that run Blender operators, switch tools or change settings, then collect them into foams and assign each foam to a shortcut key or button so its bubbles pop up together.
Bubbles can specify parameters such as size or position when running operators, and most add-on operators and settings work too. They can control values on Shader nodes, modifiers and constraints, and can execute scripts. Numeric settings like brush size respond to dragging up and down, showing a circular gauge when min and max limits are set, while color settings open a color picker on hover and enumeration settings cycle values or show a menu.
Set an icon per bubble and use styles to group bubbles by size, colors and icon rotation, with support for bitmap icons from PNG files and anti-aliased vector icons. Foams save as text files in your user directory or a location you choose, persist across Blender versions and copy to other machines, and can also live inside the blend file. Foam is tested on Windows, macOS and Linux.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui is best for blender users who want to build visual, custom shortcut interfaces without coding.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui is completely free to download and use.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui lists Blender support from version 3.6 to 5.1 and is marked as Blender Extension compatible. Version 1.0.0 was tested on the latest 3.6 through 4.2 across Windows, macOS and Linux, and the developer aims to support back to at least the previous LTS release. Individual foams can also specify a minimum and maximum compatible Blender version, so you can flag which builds a given interface is intended for. Check the developer's page for the current tested range on your setup.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui is tested on Windows, macOS and Linux, so all three desktop platforms are covered. Because your foams save as plain text files on disk, you can copy them between machines, including across operating systems, and they persist across Blender versions. You can also store foams inside the blend file itself. For the exact platform and version combinations verified by the developer, see the developer's page.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui lets you build your own user interfaces in Blender without coding. You assemble clickable bubbles that run Blender operators, switch tools or change settings, then collect them into foams and assign them to a shortcut key or button so they pop up together. Bubbles can also execute scripts and control values on Shader nodes, modifiers and constraints, so more advanced setups are possible without writing an add-on yourself.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui stores your foams as text files in your user directory, or another location you set in preferences. Because they live on disk, they persist across Blender versions and can be copied to other machines. If you prefer, foams can also be stored inside the blend file. Each foam can be associated with specific views and object modes, so you can set up different interfaces for different working contexts.
Foam - Custom Blender Ui is listed as free in this catalog and is distributed under the GPL license. Licensing and pricing can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. The developer also offers support through a Discord server, with an invitation provided on purchase, and points to the Foam Change Log for links, tutorials and more information.
