Gp Shaper stands out in the Superhive library for its shortcut-driven approach to reshaping Grease Pencil strokes without leaving draw mode.
Gp Shaper works in Blender's draw mode, converting a single Grease Pencil stroke to a target shape by hovering over it and pressing a shortcut. Available target shapes are ellipse or circle, arcs (partial ellipse, not parabolic), rectangle or square, polyline, and line.
Two sets of shortcuts drive the workflow. C converts a stroke to the target shape, while Alt + C opens a pie menu to choose the target shape. V converts with snapping to a 15° angle, and Alt + V opens the pie menu with the same 15° snapping. Pressing C or V twice quickly over the same stroke equalizes its axis, turning a rectangle into a square or an ellipse into a circle.
After conversion, the Redo panel (bottom right corner of the screen, or the F9 popup) lets you tweak the resulting shape. A popover panel in the upper right corner of the 3D viewport in draw mode offers options to change the single "to Shape" shortcut behavior (default auto-detect), a summary of the shortcuts, and a button to open preferences for customizing the keymap.
Gp Shaper is best for blender artists working with Grease Pencil who want to reshape single strokes into clean shapes in draw mode.
Gp Shaper is completely free to download and use.
Gp Shaper is compatible with Blender 4.3 through the latest, with the listing noting support up to Blender 5.0. If you are running an older release, you would need to update Blender before using the add-on. Because it operates within Grease Pencil draw mode, keep in mind that the 3D pencil and shortcut label shown in the demo material are for demonstration only and are not part of the add-on itself.
Gp Shaper converts a single stroke by hovering over it in draw mode and pressing a shortcut. Press C to convert to the target shape, or Alt + C to open a pie menu and pick the shape. Press V to convert with snapping to a 15° angle, and Alt + V for the same pie menu with 15° snapping. Pressing C or V twice quickly over the same stroke equalizes its axis, turning a rectangle into a square or an ellipse into a circle.
Gp Shaper lets you refine the result in the Redo panel, found in the bottom right corner of the screen or opened as a popup with the F9 key, where you can tweak the resulting shape. A popover panel in the upper right corner of the 3D viewport in draw mode also provides options to change the single "to Shape" shortcut behavior, which defaults to auto-detect, along with a summary of shortcuts and a button to open preferences for customizing the keymap.
Gp Shaper is listed as free in this catalog and is distributed under the GPL license. Pricing and licensing terms can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current details before you download. A demo video is also available if you want to see the shape conversion and shortcut workflow before deciding whether it fits your Grease Pencil projects in Blender.
