Imagegis2Camera creates Blender cameras from geotagged images or from SHP/GPKG point data. It is designed for visual-impact work, photomontage preparation, renewable-energy visualization, planning submissions, GIS-to-3D workflows and any Blender scene where photographs, camera viewpoints and spatial data must stay synchronized.
After import, cameras are named after the source photos or after a selected vector attribute and placed inside a dedicated Imagegis2Camera collection in the Outliner, keeping project cameras separate from the rest of the scene. When an image is linked, it is attached as a camera background for immediate visual checking, and the image resolution is stored on the camera. Focal length, 35 mm equivalent and GPS image direction can be imported when the metadata is present.
For multi-viewpoint projects, cameras are assigned to consecutive timeline frames using Blender camera markers, so moving the timeline changes the active viewpoint. Rendered files can be saved using the active camera name. Cameras or selected objects can be snapped to a mesh terrain with an eye-level offset, and converted to panoramic equirectangular mode for wide-view or 360-style outputs. The main panel sits in the 3D View sidebar.

Imagegis2Camera can build cameras from two source types. In Images Only mode it scans a chosen folder recursively, reads GPS coordinates stored in image EXIF metadata, and creates one camera per geotagged photo. In vector mode it reads a SHP or GPKG point layer and uses each point as a camera location, matching photos by name. Before import you can transform coordinates to EPSG:4326 (WGS84), set an XY scale, swap X/Y for files that use the opposite coordinate order, and import at the world origin to avoid working far from zero coordinates.
Imagegis2Camera places its main panel in the Blender 3D View sidebar. That panel combines GIS and photo import settings, EXIF options, ground snapping, camera resolution controls and per-camera render buttons in a single workflow-oriented interface. After import, cameras are grouped inside a dedicated Imagegis2Camera collection in the Outliner, keeping project cameras separate from the rest of the scene. Camera names can stay readable in the viewport when the Show names in viewport option is enabled, and background image display is turned on automatically on each camera with a matched image.
Imagegis2Camera can import lens and heading metadata when it is present in the photo. The Import Lens Parameters option sets focal length and sensor crop from EXIF where possible, and the add-on can also read the 35 mm equivalent and GPS image direction. When an image is linked to a camera, the add-on attaches it as a background image for immediate visual checking and stores the image resolution on that camera, so each viewpoint keeps its own custom X/Y render resolution taken from the linked source image.
Imagegis2Camera builds a frame-by-frame camera sequence for multi-viewpoint projects. Each imported camera is assigned to a consecutive timeline frame using Blender camera markers, so scrubbing or moving the timeline changes the active viewpoint. It works like a keyed camera-switching setup, and the add-on can update render resolution for the active frame. Rendered files can be saved using the active camera name for clean batch output, and cameras can also be converted to panoramic equirectangular mode for wide-view or 360-style renders.
