Incrementalautobackup earns its listing for a focused, single-purpose approach: it adds automated incremental backups to Blender and nothing more. The N-Panel controls keep interval, retention and storage settings in one place, and half of the proceeds are directed to the Blender Foundation.
Incrementalautobackup is a Blender add-on from Dead Simple Shop that enables automated incremental backups of your project. Backups are written into a designated folder at an interval you set, and you decide how many backup files are retained before the oldest one is deleted.
All controls live in a new "Backup" tab in the Viewport N-Panel, opened with the N key. There you set the backup interval in seconds, the number of backups to keep, and where they are stored. The default path saves backups in the same location as the original file. The file must have been saved once for the add-on to work, and you start or stop the process with the Start Backups and Halt Backups buttons.
The add-on works with Blender 3.6, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3, ships under the GPL license, and includes documentation. Half of the proceeds go to the Blender Foundation, and a demo video is available.
Incrementalautobackup is best for blender users who want automated incremental backups of a saved project at a set interval, with control over how many versions are kept.
Incrementalautobackup is completely free to download and use.
Incrementalautobackup supports Blender 3.6, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. The installation step differs slightly on newer releases: in Blender 4.3 and above you open the drop-down menu at the top right of the Add-ons preferences and choose install from disk, then point it at the downloaded ZIP file. On the supported earlier versions you install the same ZIP through Edit, Preferences, Add-ons. Once the add-on is enabled, its tools appear in a dedicated Backup tab in the N-Panel.
Incrementalautobackup requires the file you are working on to have been saved at least once before it functions properly. Once the file is saved, open the Backup tab in the N-Panel, set your interval in seconds, choose how many backups to keep and where they are stored, then press Start Backups. The default storage path places backups in the same location as the original save file. You can stop the process at any time with the Halt Backups button.
Incrementalautobackup installs from a ZIP file. Download the ZIP, then open Edit, Preferences, Add-ons in Blender. In Blender 4.3 and above, click the drop-down menu at the top right and select install from disk, then choose the downloaded ZIP. After enabling the add-on, press N in the Viewport to open the N-Panel, where a new tab called Backup holds the interval, retention and storage settings along with the Start Backups and Halt Backups buttons.
Incrementalautobackup lets you choose where backups are stored through the Backup tab in the N-Panel. By default, the path saves backups in the exact same location as the original save file, but you can designate a different folder. Alongside the storage location, you set the backup interval in seconds and the number of backup files to retain; when that limit is reached, the oldest backup is deleted automatically. Press Start Backups to begin and Halt Backups to stop.
Incrementalautobackup is listed as free in this catalog, so you can add it here without a purchase. For current licensing and any conditions, check the official listing on the developer's page from Dead Simple Shop. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license, and the developer notes that half of the proceeds go directly to the Blender Foundation. Documentation is included to help you get the backups set up and running.
