Instancer Editor + takes a block-style editing approach on superhive: double-click to edit an instance in isolation or in place, with every instance updating live and Asset Library links localized automatically.
Instancer Editor + is a Blender add-on for editing collection instances. Double-click any instance in the viewport to open it in an isolated editing mode where the scene hides and the block takes focus, or use Ctrl and double-click to edit in place with the scene visible but locked. In either mode, every instance updates live, and you exit with ESC.
The add-on works with Blender's native collection instances, Asset Library instances, Rhino Blocks in 3DM and FBX, and imported structures from FBX and glTF. Linked Asset Library instances are automatically rebuilt as local blocks when you edit them, with no manual steps. During in-place editing you can display locked objects as a wireframe, a solid color with transparency, or a bounding box, and switch modes live.
Additional tools cover exporting blocks as standalone .blend files with packed textures, updating from or changing the source, converting instances to independent geometry with Explode, and managing materials by block through the Material Panel.
Instancer Editor + is best for blender artists working with native collection instances, Asset Library assets, and imported blocks who want to edit instances with live updates.
Instancer Editor + is completely free to download and use.
Instancer Editor + supports Blender 4.2 to 5.1 and later, so recent releases across that range are covered. It works with Blender's native collection instances as well as Asset Library instances, and when you edit a linked Asset Library instance the add-on rebuilds it as a local block automatically, with no manual steps. If you're on a build outside that range, check the developer's page to confirm your exact Blender version before installing so you know the add-on matches your setup.
Instancer Editor + works with instances from Blender's Asset Library alongside native collection instances. When you edit a linked Asset Library instance, Smart Localization automatically rebuilds it as a local block, so there are no manual steps involved. Beyond native instances, it also handles Rhino Blocks in 3DM and FBX, and imported structures from FBX and glTF. That range of sources means you can edit blocks brought in from several formats within the same add-on.
Instancer Editor + covers Blender's native collection instances, Rhino Blocks imported as 3DM or FBX, Asset Library instances that it auto-localizes, and imported structures from FBX and glTF. The Save and Update tools let you export blocks as standalone .blend files with packed textures, update from source, change source, or export everything at once. This lets you bring in blocks from several formats and manage them together, and you can save edited blocks as .blend files for your own library.
Instancer Editor + uses a keyboard-first workflow. Double-click any collection instance in the viewport to edit it in isolated mode, where the scene hides so you focus on the block. Use Ctrl and double-click for Edit in Place, which keeps the scene visible but locked. Press ESC to exit one editing level, or Shift and ESC to exit all levels at once. Every instance updates live as you work, and you can save blocks as .blend files for your library.
Instancer Editor + is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing and availability can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current terms before downloading. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license and is offered as a Blender add-on. A demo video is also available. If you want to confirm details or see the latest version before installing, the developer's page is the best place to look.
