Mangaka is a Blender add-on that turns 3D rendered images into manga-style illustrations. It handles the line work and tones so a rendered scene takes on a manga-style appearance, and the add-on was built using Serpens visual scripting.
At its core is a layer system based on Cryptomatte technology, which lets you make adjustments on a per-asset basis. You can tailor settings such as line width and color for each individual element in the scene. Line work is driven by Basic and Advanced line type settings, with the Advanced mode using a reworked, optimized edge detection algorithm and adding Outline and Silhouette options that are only available in Advanced mode.
Mangaka also covers tones and finishing details. It includes customizable screentones plus three defaults (600DPI at 60L, 40L, and 20L), RGB tones, distance culling, an adjustable line thickness setting, and a Betas (Pure Black) option within the line settings. Note that Mangaka is not compatible with Blender 5.0; the developer tested it on Blender 4.4.x.
