Marker Jam works across a wide span of Blender versions, from 2.81 through 4.4, and is distributed under the GPL license. A quick-start and detail video are available for the add-on.
Marker Jam, previously called Timeline Marker Groups, is a Blender add-on built around organizing and managing timeline markers. You select markers in the timeline and save them as named, reusable groups, then restore those sets later with their original frame positions and camera bindings intact. Everything is reached from a "Marker Groups" panel in the Timeline or the Dope Sheet Editor sidebar.
The add-on offers a non-destructive workflow, so editing groups does not affect existing timeline markers. You can toggle whole groups on or off with one click to temporarily hide them without deleting them, and batch operations let you quickly select or deselect all markers. Version 1.3 added video sequencer support and a delete-all-markers button.
Groups can be exported to and imported from JSON files, making it possible to share marker configurations between projects or keep backups of your setups. Camera binding support preserves camera assignments within groups. Installation follows the standard route: download the .zip, open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, click Install, select the .zip, and enable the add-on.
Marker Jam (Formerly Called Timeline Marker Groups) is best for animators, previs artists, and anyone working with complex scene markers in Blender.
Marker Jam (Formerly Called Timeline Marker Groups) is completely free to download and use.
Marker Jam supports a broad range of Blender releases, listed as versions 4.4, 4.3, 4.2, 4.1, 4.0, 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1, 3.0, 2.93, 2.92, 2.91, 2.9, 2.83, 2.82, and 2.81. This wide coverage means the add-on can slot into older and current projects alike, whether you maintain legacy scenes or start fresh work in a recent build. Compatibility spans well over a decade of Blender releases, so check the developer's page for the latest details before installing into your specific version.
Marker Jam installs through Blender's standard add-on process. Download the .zip file, then go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons inside Blender. Click Install, select the downloaded .zip, and enable the add-on. Once active, you access its features from the "Marker Groups" panel found in the Timeline or the Dope Sheet Editor sidebar. This is the same method used for most Blender add-ons, so no additional setup steps are described.
Marker Jam uses a non-destructive workflow, so you can edit groups without affecting existing timeline markers. Toggling visibility temporarily hides a group rather than deleting it, letting you show or hide entire sets with one click. Loading a saved group restores markers with their original frame positions and camera bindings, and batch operations let you quickly select or deselect all markers when you need to work across the whole timeline.
Marker Jam is listed as free in this catalog. It is distributed under the GPL license. Because licensing and pricing can change over time, check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. There you can also find the quick-start video and additional detail video for the add-on, along with the download itself to begin installing it in Blender.
