Match Comp Duration earns its place in the aescripts library for a focused job: adjusting durations across selected pre-comps and their nested layers, with options for nested, locked and custom-duration cases.
Match Comp Duration is a script for After Effects that changes the duration of selected pre-comps and layers, together with all their nested layers to the deepest level of the project. It can match the selected items to the current composition duration in a single click, or to the current time indicator duration. A custom duration can also be set, so the selected layers match that value instead of the current comp duration. When it changes the total duration, it does not reposition the layers in time.
Beyond duration matching, it can include all nested pre-composed layers as well as nested locked layers down to the deepest level pre-comp. It can also resize all nested comps to the current comp, using fit, width or height.
Match Comp Duration is compatible with After Effects 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and CC 2019. The current release, version 1.1.1, dates from May 2025 and fixed an issue where the custom duration was relative to the composition start rather than the layer start, so it now respects the layer's in-point.

Alongside duration changes, it can include nested pre-composed and locked layers down to the deepest level pre-comp, and resize nested comps to the current comp using fit, width or height.
