MGF Tools earns its place in the Superhive library by consolidating common modeling chores — origins, UVs, shading, and optimization — into one add-on that covers Blender 3.0 through 4.2.
MGF Tools is an add-on for Blender that gathers common modeling operations into a single toolset. Version 2.1.2 organizes its features into six parts: Display Overlay for switching viewport display modes, Object display for changing how selected objects appear, an Objects section, UV tools, an Optimize section, and Import Export.
The Objects section covers renaming, selecting by type, applying transforms, and setting or clearing parents. Quick origin snaps origins to bottom, center, or head, while custom origin exposes 27 combinations. Shading options include flip normal, autosmooth, mark sharp, and clear sharp, and material tools remove unused materials, display them, and rename them. The UV section adds three auto-unwrap modes, UV scaling and 90-degree rotation, renaming, and removal of inactive UV slots.
The Optimize section handles Purge All, quick decimate, modifier editing across render and viewport, and a texture size limit, while Import Export moves multiple files at once. Version 2.1.2 supports Blender 3.0 through 4.2 and adds camera quick setup along with material node tools. A demo video is available.
Mgf Tools is best for blender artists making 3D models who want quick access to origin, UV, shading, modifier, and import/export operations from one add-on.
Mgf Tools is completely free to download and use.
MGF Tools supports Blender 3.0 through 4.2 as of version 2.1.2. Earlier releases covered different ranges: version 1.0.3 worked with Blender 2.8 to 3.0, and version 2.0.0 extended support up to 4.0. If you run a version within the 3.0 to 4.2 window, the current release is the one to install. For versions outside that range, check the developer's page for an older build that matches your setup.
MGF Tools should be updated carefully: uninstall the current add-on before installing the new one, then restart Blender. The developer also notes that the limit texture size feature requires saving the file afterward, and that image resizing was fixed for non-square results in Blender 4.0 and higher starting with version 2.1.2. A YouTube tutorial and a Discord channel are available for guides and support if you run into trouble during the process.
MGF Tools is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current details before you rely on a specific arrangement. The add-on is distributed through Superhive, and the developer points users to a YouTube tutorial for guides plus a Discord channel for feedback and support. Those channels are the best place to confirm what is included with your download.
MGF Tools version 2.1.2 added a camera quick setup for angle and position, along with quick rendering of single or multiple objects, plus material and material node tools. It also fixed an error where image resizing was not square in Blender 4.0 and higher. This release keeps support for Blender 3.0 through 4.2, the same range introduced in the 2.1.0 update. For a full history of changes, the developer's page lists earlier versions.
