Modular Tree, also known as Mtree, is a Blender add-on for building 3D trees. It generates a tree by executing a succession of tree functions that shape the structure, then converts the result into a 3D mesh.
For quick results, one-click presets cover Oak, Pine and Willow. For finer control, a node-based workflow lets you build trees by connecting nodes, while procedural parameters govern the trunk, branches and leaves. Chaining branch nodes produces multi-level branching for more complex tree structures.
Beyond the add-on, Modular Tree is built on a C++ library that can be used separately. It runs on Blender 4.3.1 and newer, with downloads for Windows, macOS on both Intel and Apple Silicon, and Linux, and is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
