Why we like it

MVR earns its place in the Superhive library by combining multi-angle camera handling, one-click lighting and collage rendering into one add-on. Note that a render in progress cannot be stopped without ending the Blender process.

What is Multi View Render?

Multi View Render (MVR) is a Blender add-on built for speed and showcasing. It dynamically creates a 6 POV camera setup so you can present a product from all angles, and it keeps every camera in one place with a system for adding, tweaking and toggling through them with a single click.

MVR ships with a built-in lighting system that lets you set up 3-Point Lighting, Sky and HDRI environments with one click. The HDRI integration is an adaptation of EasyHDRI. On the output side, MVR creates collages of all your cameras, delivering an image or video of every camera in a single render. An enumeration system labels each view for easy identification and feedback from clients or team members.

One current limitation: once a render starts it cannot be stopped until it finishes, and stopping the Blender process is the only way to end it early. The developer notes a solution is in progress. Documentation is available, along with a demo video.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender version does Multi View Render support?

Multi View Render lists Blender version 4.0 as its supported version. If you run a different release, check the developer's page for details on compatibility before installing. The add-on was published almost three years ago, so confirming that your Blender version aligns with the listed 4.0 support is worth doing to make sure the camera, lighting and collage features work as intended in your setup.

Can I stop a render partway through in Multi View Render?

Multi View Render currently cannot stop a render once it has started; the render must finish, and stopping the Blender process is the only way to end it early. The developer notes a solution is being worked on. Because of this, it is worth confirming your camera and lighting setup before you begin, since you will need to let a collage render through to completion rather than interrupting it mid-way.

How does Multi View Render handle lighting?

Multi View Render includes a built-in lighting system that lets you create 3-Point Lighting, Sky and HDRI environments with a single click. The HDRI integration is an adaptation of EasyHDRI. This means you can set up an environment to accompany your 6 POV camera arrangement without leaving the add-on, keeping the lighting and camera workflow in one place alongside the collage rendering features.

Is Multi View Render free?

Multi View Render is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current details before you download. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license, and the developer is listed as a Dev Fund Contributor. For any specific questions about pricing or usage terms, reaching out through the developer's page is the most reliable option.
