Why we like it

Version 1.2.1 focuses on a leaner workflow, adds support for glass and transmissive surfaces via a glass collection, moves floor plan generation to the Nukxon web viewer, and resolves an export cleanup crash.

What is Nukxon VR Exporter?

Nukxon VR Exporter builds walkable VR cubemap tours from Blender scenes without code or node setup. You place VR cameras on your surfaces using snap-to-row, column and intersection guides, render 6-face cubemap panoramas per camera at 1024² or 2048², export the scene mesh as Draco-compressed Y-up glTF, and bundle it all into one .nukxon package. It was built for archviz studios and designers who want to showcase projects interactively, letting clients walk through the space they designed.

The workflow runs from the Nukxon panel (View3D → N sidebar → Nukxon). You can set a starting camera, add teleport points and project links for multi-room tours, and read coverage through a camera spacing graph showing green, yellow and red states with the starting camera flagged. A Preview Start lets you step into the entry camera and orbit. An optional OIDN denoiser and a one-click optimized Cycles preset are included for output at low samples.

The finished package uploads to nukxon.com for a browser-based tour, and clients need no install. No account is required to use the exporter. The add-on is open source under GPL-3.0-or-later.

Frequently asked questions

Does Nukxon VR Exporter work with Blender 4.2?

Nukxon VR Exporter is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer. It renders 6-face cubemap panoramas using Cycles, which is the tested and recommended engine for photoreal output. You work through the Nukxon panel found under View3D → N sidebar → Nukxon, placing VR cameras on your surfaces before exporting. If you use the Photographer add-on, the developer recommends disabling its auto-exposure before exporting, since per-frame exposure adjustments can cause slight brightness differences between the six cubemap faces.

How do I share a tour made with Nukxon VR Exporter?

Nukxon VR Exporter bundles your rendered cubemap panoramas and exported mesh into a single .nukxon package. You upload that package to nukxon.com to share a browser-based, walkable tour, and your clients need no install to view it. No account is required to use the exporter itself. You can also set a starting camera, teleport points and project links before export to support multi-room tours that clients can navigate.

How do I install Nukxon VR Exporter?

Nukxon VR Exporter can be installed from the Blender Extensions platform via Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions, then searching for the add-on and clicking Install. You can also drag and drop the downloaded add-on into Blender, or install from disk. From source, download or clone the repository and install the folder, or zip the __init__.py and blender_manifest.toml and install the resulting zip. The extension requests file write permission to save the .nukxon export bundle to a chosen output folder.

Is Nukxon VR Exporter free to use?

Nukxon VR Exporter is listed as free here and is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. No account is required to use the exporter. The code, issues and contributions are available on the developer's GitHub page. Note that the GPL covers the source code and does not grant rights to use the Nukxon name or logo, which are trademarks of Nukxon, LLC. Check the developer's page for current licensing details.
