Object Origin Mover stands out for reducing origin repositioning to a single hotkey press, with snapping handled automatically. Built on Blender's own move operator, it keeps the familiar axis-constrain and rotate controls in play.
Object Origin Mover is a Blender addon for repositioning an object's origin without leaving Object Mode. Select an object or several, press E by default, move the origin into place, and confirm. Because the tool is built on Blender's move operator, you can constrain to an axis, add snap points, or rotate while you position the origin.
You do not need to set up any snapping settings first. The operator temporarily overrides your current snap settings and returns them to their previous state once you are done. Origins snap to vertices, edges, and edge midpoints, and the Blender 5.1 build adds face center snapping. All snapping modes stay enabled at once by design and cannot be switched off individually.
The addon works in Object Mode only and handles multiple objects in a single operation. The default E hotkey can be remapped through Blender's keymap preferences, and in the addon preferences the tool is listed as simpl3 object origin mover. It comes as two zip files, so install the one that matches your Blender version, from 4.4 through 5.1.
Object Origin Mover is best for blender artists who need to reposition object origins in Object Mode with snapping to vertices, edges, and midpoints.
Object Origin Mover is completely free to download and use.
Object Origin Mover ships as two zip files: one for Blender 5.1 that includes face center snapping, and one covering Blender 4.4 through 5.0 without that feature. The tool has been tested on Blender 4.4 to 5.1. Install the zip that matches your Blender version so you get the correct build. If you are unsure which one to use, check the developer's page for guidance before installing, and confirm your Blender version falls within the supported range.
Object Origin Mover installs from a zip file, and you should pick the one that matches your Blender version, either the 5.1 build or the 4.4 to 5.0 build. Install it the usual way for a Blender addon. If you already have a version installed and are upgrading, drag and drop the new zip in the same way, then restart Blender to complete the update. Inside Blender's addon preferences the tool appears as simpl3 object origin mover.
Object Origin Mover uses E as its default hotkey, but you can reassign it to any key you prefer through Blender's keymap preferences. To find the entry, search for SIMPL3: Object Origin Mover or look up the keymap for E. The addon works in Object Mode only, so the shortcut applies there. Select an object or several, press the key, move the origin, and confirm to apply the change.
Object Origin Mover lets you snap the origin to vertices, edges, and edge midpoints, with face center snapping available in the Blender 5.1 build. All snapping modes are enabled at the same time by design and cannot be toggled off individually. You do not need to configure any snapping settings yourself, since the operator temporarily overrides your current snap settings while you move the origin, then restores them to what they were once you finish.
Object Origin Mover is listed as free in this catalog. Because licensing and terms can change over time, check the developer's page on Superhive for the current details before you download. The addon is distributed under the GPL license and lists Cycles and Eevee as its render engines. It has been tested on Blender 4.4 to 5.1, so confirm your Blender version matches one of the supported builds.
