A minimal, single-purpose add-on: quick armature selection with per-project buttons. The 1.1.0 release changed how those buttons are stored and deleted, following user feedback.
Quick Character Selector is a Blender add-on from MatiasMartin focused on one task: selecting armatures quickly. It enables quick armature selection and allows character switching during animation.
Version 1.1.0 came after a suggestion from user nickberckley. In that release the code was modified so that buttons added to each project are stored and deleted correctly. The extension requires no special permissions and ships as a small package of about 1.5 KB.
It is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later. On blender_extensions the add-on is listed in the Animation and Object categories, and has recorded 10,546 downloads since its August 2024 publication. You install it by dragging and dropping the file into Blender, or by downloading and installing from disk.
Quick Character Selector is best for blender animators working with armatures who want quick selection and character switching.

If you have trouble locating the install option, the developer's page links to Blender's own documentation on installing extensions from disk.
