Why we like it

Quick View stands out in the superhive library as a small, focused utility: two orientation features that don't depend on the numpad, useful when your number keys are already spoken for.

What is Quick View?

Quick View adds two ways to change viewport orientation in Blender without relying on the numpad. It targets people who use a TKL keyboard or who have other add-ons mapped to the number keys, which can make the usual orientation shortcuts hard to reach.

The first feature is a PIE menu covering the standard viewport orientations: Front, Right, Back, Left, Bottom, Top, and Camera or Perspective. Its default keybind is V in both object mode and edit mode. The second is interactive orientation, bound by default to Shift + V in object mode and edit mode, for looking around an object or scene.

Settings let you set the default projection to perspective or orthographic, return to perspective after interactive orientation finishes, and toggle Auto Perspective to retain projection when moving the view during interactive orientation. Keybinds for rotating, panning, and zooming during interactive orientation follow your assigned Blender keybinds. A documentation page covers the details.

Who is Quick View best for?

Quick View is best for blender users on TKL keyboards, or with number keys already assigned to other add-ons, who want quick viewport orientation changes.

How much does Quick View cost?

Quick View is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Does Quick View work with Blender 3.3 and 4.1?

Quick View lists support for Blender 4.1, 4.0, 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, and 3.3, so both 3.3 and 4.1 are covered. A hot fix in version 1.0.2 addressed a bug with showing the modal in Blender 4.0.2. If you run a version outside that range, check the developer's page and documentation for current compatibility before installing, since the listed versions reflect what the developer states rather than every possible release.

What are the default keybinds for Quick View?

Quick View uses two default keybinds. The PIE menu, which gives you the standard viewport orientations, is bound to V in both object mode and edit mode. Interactive orientation is bound to Shift + V, also in object mode and edit mode. For rotating, panning, and zooming during interactive orientation, Quick View follows the keybinds you have already assigned in Blender rather than hardcoded ones. The documentation page covers these controls in more detail.

Is Quick View free to use?

Quick View is listed as free here in the catalog. Licensing and pricing can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. The add-on is released under the GPL license, according to its listing. For the latest details on availability and any licensing notes, the developer's page and documentation are the best places to look, since what's shown here reflects the listing at one point rather than live pricing.

What projection settings does Quick View offer?

Quick View lets you set the default projection to perspective or orthographic from its settings. You can also enable a Return to perspective option, which switches back to perspective once interactive orientation finishes, and toggle Auto Perspective to keep the current projection when you move the view during interactive orientation. Camera rotation is handled correctly regardless of the object's current rotation. These options were introduced in version 1.0.3, and the documentation page explains how each behaves.
