Why we like it

Supports a wide range of Blender versions, from 2.8 through 4.3, and setup relies on a Telegram chat id that is permanent and should be kept private.

What is Render Notifier?

Render Notifier is a Blender addon by Neeraj Lagwankar that notifies you on Telegram when a render is done, using the Telegram bot. Instead of checking whether a render has finished, you receive a message once the job completes. Setup involves opening the BlenderRenderNotifierBot on Telegram, starting the conversation, typing /getid to get your chat id, then installing and enabling the addon and entering that id in the "Telegram client ID" field. The chat id is permanent and should not be shared with anyone, since all notifications are sent to the entered id.

The addon notifies when a single image is rendered, when an image sequence is rendered, and when a render is cancelled. It can also send stats of all frames rendered as a final notification once an image sequence finishes. Version 1.1.0 adds an option to disable per-frame notifications while rendering an animation and send a single notification only when the complete animation is rendered, which is useful when rendering more than 30 frames.

A short video covers installation and use, and issues or feature requests can be raised on GitHub.

Who is Render Notifier best for?

Render Notifier is best for blender users who want to be alerted on Telegram when renders finish instead of monitoring the computer.

How much does Render Notifier cost?

Render Notifier is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender versions does Render Notifier support?

Render Notifier lists compatibility across a broad range of Blender releases, including 4.3, 4.2, 4.1, 4.0, and the 3.x series down through 3.0, as well as 2.93, 2.92, 2.91, 2.9, 2.83, 2.82, 2.81, and 2.8. This wide span means it can be used with older projects as well as recent versions of Blender. For the current list and any changes, check the developer's page before installing.

How do I set up Render Notifier with Telegram?

Render Notifier connects through the BlenderRenderNotifierBot on Telegram. Open the bot link, click "Start" to begin the conversation, then type /getid to receive your chat id and copy it. Install the addon in Blender, enable it, and paste that id into the "Telegram client ID" field. All notifications are then sent to the entered chat id. Note that the chat id is permanent and cannot be changed, so it should not be exposed to anyone.

Does Render Notifier stop sending a message for every frame when rendering animations?

Render Notifier added this behaviour in version 1.1.0, which introduces an option to disable notifications for all frames while rendering an animation and send a single notification only when the complete animation is rendered. This is useful when rendering more than 30 frames, to avoid a constant stream of messages. When rendering an image sequence, it can also send stats of all frames rendered as a final notification once the sequence finishes.

Is Render Notifier free?

Render Notifier is listed as free in this catalog. It is distributed under a Royalty Free license. For the latest licensing terms and any changes, refer to the developer's page. Issues and feature requests can be submitted on the project's GitHub repository, and a short video is available covering how to install and use the addon.
