Why we like it

Render Region Pro stands out in the superhive library for consolidating render-region drawing, snapshot comparison, HDRI control, and VRAM monitoring into a single viewport toolbar. A demo video is available.

What is Render Region Pro?

Render Region Pro adds render-region controls to the Blender viewport, where the native render region is limited and static. You draw and resize a region on exactly what matters, and the region locks to the camera frame and follows it automatically in camera view. Store up to 10 snapshots and drag a live wipe slider between a stored render and the live result to see what each change did.

Six one-click toggles cover Subdivision, Hair, Instances, Clay override, Denoiser, and Compositor, and everything restores automatically. A color-coded VRAM monitor tracks GPU usage in real time across multiple GPUs, while an info bar exposes the render engine, color management transforms, and False Color. HDRI environments can be cycled, rotated, and swapped from a custom folder, with the original world preserved and restored on toggle off.

The UI scales from 0.5x to 2.0x, with custom border and button colors, configurable shortcuts, and PNG, JPEG, or WebP snapshot export. It ships as an addon ZIP for Blender 5.0 and later, with full documentation and three bundled HDRIs.

Who is Render Region Pro best for?

Render Region Pro is best for lookdev in Blender — comparing render iterations, adjusting HDRI lighting, and toggling scene features directly from the viewport.

How much does Render Region Pro cost?

Render Region Pro is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender version does Render Region Pro require?

Render Region Pro ships as an addon ZIP ready to install in Blender 5.0 or later. It works with the Cycles, EEVEE, and Workbench render engines and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The download includes full documentation and three bundled HDRIs covering outdoor, indoor, and studio setups, so you can start using HDRI lighting right away. If you are on a version earlier than 5.0, check the developer's page for compatibility details before installing.

Does Render Region Pro need an NVIDIA GPU?

Render Region Pro's real-time VRAM monitor requires an NVIDIA GPU together with nvidia-smi, and it can display color-coded usage bars across multiple GPUs at once, shifting from green to orange to red as usage climbs. All other features work without those requirements. The addon supports the Cycles, EEVEE, and Workbench engines on Windows, macOS, and Linux, so the VRAM monitor is the only piece tied specifically to NVIDIA hardware.

Is Render Region Pro free?

Render Region Pro is listed as free in this catalog. Because licensing terms can change over time, check the Pixel Makers Labs developer page for the current details before you rely on it for a project. The download is provided as an addon ZIP for Blender 5.0 and later and includes full documentation along with three bundled HDRIs, so everything you need to get started comes in the package.

How many snapshots can Render Region Pro store?

Render Region Pro can store up to 10 snapshots, and you drag a live wipe slider between a stored render and the live result to see exactly what a change did. This live compare mode sits directly in the viewport alongside the render region you draw. Snapshots can be exported in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format from preferences, so you can keep the comparisons you want outside the current session.

What HDRI files does Render Region Pro work with?

Render Region Pro works with .hdr and .exr files. You can point it to any folder of your own HDRIs and change that folder at any time, cycle through files with Ctrl+Scroll, and rotate the environment on the Z axis with Ctrl+Shift+Scroll. A floating World Shader Editor and a live intensity slider are available too. Your original world is saved and restored when you toggle the feature off, and three HDRIs — outdoor, indoor, and studio — ship with the addon.
