Why we like it

Render Stats earns its place in the Superhive library by keeping render progress and time estimates visible in the viewport, with clipboard and CSV export for reporting after a job finishes.

What is Render Stats?

Render Stats is a Blender add-on from Soyoyo that surfaces rendering statistics inside the 3D Viewport. While rendering an image or animation, it reports the progress of the whole animation, the time spent so far, and the estimated remaining time. After installing and enabling it, the add-on is ready to work, showing its stats during any render.

To estimate how long an entire animation will take, you can render a single image, or render the animation and cancel it after 3 to 5 frames for a more accurate evaluation. The add-on works on the formula: elapsed time plus estimated remaining time equals estimated total time. In the add-on preferences, you can change the display position, line spacing, and font size, and some of the same settings appear in the N Panel under the RStats tab.

When a render finishes or is cancelled, the add-on can place the summary stats into the clipboard, an option you can turn off. Detailed stats can be exported as a CSV file from the N Panel. Rendering statistics are calculated after each frame completes and refresh once each frame is done.

Who is Render Stats best for?

Render Stats is best for blender users who want on-screen render progress and time-estimation feedback while rendering images or animations.

How much does Render Stats cost?

Render Stats is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender versions does Render Stats support?

Render Stats supports Blender versions 3.6 through 5.0 and is a Blender Extension-compatible add-on. It works with the Blender-Internal, Cycles, and Eevee render engines. One thing to be aware of is that the progress bar display looks slightly different between Blender 3.x and 4.x, though the statistics themselves are reported in both. If you run a version within this supported range, the add-on shows its rendering statistics in the 3D Viewport once installed and enabled.

How does Render Stats estimate the remaining render time?

Render Stats calculates estimated remaining time by adding it to the elapsed time to produce an estimated total. To gauge an animation's full duration, you can render a single image, or render the animation and cancel after 3 to 5 frames for a more accurate figure. The accuracy depends on your frame time deviation, which in turn depends on scene complexity and your computer environment. Keeping the machine from doing other heavy tasks during rendering helps produce a more stable, accurate estimate.

How do I export the render statistics from Render Stats?

Render Stats offers two export paths. When a render finishes or is cancelled, the add-on can place the summary statistics into the clipboard, after which you can paste them into any text editor; this clipboard behaviour is optional and can be turned off. For more detail, you can export a CSV file from the N Panel. To read the CSV clearly, a table display application is recommended, since a regular text editor can make CSV files difficult to read.

Is Render Stats free to use?

Render Stats is listed as free here in our catalog. It is distributed under the GPL license. For current licensing terms and any purchase details, check the developer's page. The add-on requires no separate setup beyond installing and enabling it in Blender, after which it displays rendering statistics in the 3D Viewport during your renders. Questions can be directed to the creator through the contact option on the developer's marketplace page.
