ScreenLock Reference is a script for 3ds Max that helps with modeling and projection tasks by locking reference images directly to your camera view. It places an image in the foreground, between the camera and your scene, where it acts as a transparent overlay to guide your work.
The tool adds a modifier to the selected camera with controls to load and manage the reference image. It loads images in any 3ds Max-supported format, with automatic transparency handling drawn from the alpha channel. The image can be tied to the reference plane through object-space mapping or projected from the camera using world-space mapping, and custom settings let you adjust image scale, position and general transparency. The reference image's visibility can be toggled easily.
Built by rode3d and available through Spline Dynamics, ScreenLock Reference runs on 3ds Max 2015 and later. It suits modeling objects, aligning scenes for video mapping and working on architectural layouts.
