Select-Up earns its place in the Superhive library for a focused job: turning multi-part object selection into a level-by-level operation driven by your collection structure, across a long span of Blender versions.
Select-Up is an add-on for Blender by Nikita Akimov that targets a common pain point: selecting whole objects in scenes where lots of complex parts are packed into their own collections. When objects are wrapped into individual collections, clicking every part to select an entire object becomes tedious, and this add-on trims that down to a few clicks.
The workflow is straightforward. Select any element of an object, then press "Select Level Up" to add every element one level up, based on the collection structure. Each additional press moves the selection up another level, following how the collections are nested.
Select-Up is listed at version 1.3.0 and supports a wide range of Blender releases, from 2.80 through 3.6. Installation follows the standard add-on route: download the zip archive, open the Preferences window, go to Add-ons, choose Install, and point Blender at the downloaded file. A demo video is also available for reference.
Select-Up is best for blender users working with complex scenes where objects are organised into their own collections and need to select whole objects quickly.
Select-Up is completely free to download and use.
Select-Up supports a broad range of Blender releases, covering versions 2.80, 2.81, 2.82, 2.83, 2.90, 2.91, 2.92, 2.93, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6. That span reaches back to the early 2.8 series and forward into the 3.x line, so it fits many established Blender setups. The current add-on version is 1.3.0. If you run a newer Blender release than those listed, check the developer's page to confirm compatibility before relying on it in a project.
Select-Up installs through Blender's standard add-on process. First download the zip archive containing the add-on distributive. In Blender, open the Preferences window, go to the Add-ons section, click Install, and point it at the downloaded archive. Once installed, the add-on becomes available for use in your scene. This is the same method used for most Blender add-ons, so no separate installer or external application is involved beyond the zip file itself.
Select-Up works when objects are wrapped into their own collections. Select any element of an object, then press "Select Level Up" to add all of its elements one level up, based on that object's collection. Each further press of the button moves the selection up another level according to how the collections are nested. This lets you build up a selection of a whole complex object step by step, rather than clicking each individual part in the scene.
Select-Up is listed as free here in the catalog. The add-on is published under a Royalty Free license by Nikita Akimov. For the most current licensing terms and any purchase details, visit the developer's page directly, since terms can change over time. A demo video is also available if you want to see the add-on referenced before installing it into your own Blender projects.
