Why we like it

SelectorPro earns its place for turning object selection into a settings-driven process, letting you filter or expand by attributes rather than clicking through the scene. The N-Panel layout and per-element tooltips keep the options approachable.

What is Selectorpro?

SelectorPro brings settings-based selection logic to Blender. Instead of picking objects by hand, you make a selection in the scene, set parameters, then let the addon keep, discard or extend objects that match your chosen conditions and relations. It can match by object names, materials, UV maps, vertex groups and more, and it also works with object family relations, ViewLayers and visibility in render.

The interface sits in the N-Panel and is built on four tabs. Quick runs predefined operations in a click. Extend expands a selection using settings, currently family settings. Filter keeps or removes objects, with every enabled setting working together so only objects matching all of them stay selected. Saved lets you store selections or logics and recall them later; these are session-dependent and clear when Blender restarts. Every interface element carries a tooltip explaining how it works.

Recent updates added filtering by Lightgroups and a Context feature that switches between the Viewport and Outliner as the starting selection, working even with hidden objects.

Who is Selectorpro best for?

Selectorpro is best for blender users who need to expand or filter object selections by attributes and conditions instead of picking objects manually.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use SelectorPro in Blender?

SelectorPro opens in Blender's N-Panel. You make a selection in the scene, set the parameters you want to filter or expand by, then press the operation you want, and the addon extends or filters the selection following those settings. The tools are organised into four tabs, Quick, Extend, Filter and Saved, and every interface element has a tooltip explaining how it works, so you can check what each option does without leaving the panel.

What attributes can SelectorPro filter or select by?

SelectorPro can match objects by attributes such as specific names, materials, UV maps and vertex groups, among others. It also works with object family relations, ViewLayers and visibility in render, and a recent update added filtering by Lightgroups. Each setting offers options that let you choose how objects are matched and with which parameter, and in the Filter tab the enabled settings work together so only objects matching every one of them stay selected.

Do saved selections in SelectorPro stay after restarting Blender?

SelectorPro's Saved tab lets you store your current selection or your filter and extend logics so you can recall them later. When you save something, a button appears; pressing it reselects those objects, or reapplies the saved filter or extend logic to your current selection as if you were using those tabs. These saved elements are session-dependent, so they disappear when Blender is restarted and are not kept between sessions.

Can SelectorPro select objects from the Outliner?

SelectorPro includes a Context feature, added in a recent update, that switches the context between the Viewport and the Outliner. This lets you use objects selected in the Outliner as your starting selection. It works even with hidden objects, so you can, for example, select the visible children of hidden parents before applying an expand or filter operation. The feature was introduced alongside fixes to filtering behaviour.

Is SelectorPro free to use?

SelectorPro is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing and pricing can change over time, so for the current terms it's best to check the developer's page before downloading. The addon is made by Alessandro Pinna for Blender and includes documentation. A demo video is available, and the developer can be contacted through the listing for questions about the product.
