Setup Static Object earns its place in the Superhive library for consolidating an object's modifiers, transforms and edit states into a single static mesh, with optional feature edge removal.
Setup Static Object is a Blender add-on that applies the edited states of an object to create a mesh that can be used as a static mesh for games. It integrates multiple objects and applies modifiers, link duplication, transforms and more to completely mesh them, with each process available as an option that can be turned on or off.
The add-on includes a Remove the Feature Edge option, which removes feature edges during conversion. This helps remove unwanted edges and generate a low poly model. Before using it, you can set the bevel edge or excess edge of a high poly model for baking to the Freestyle edge and similar edge types. The edge options cover Select, Crease, Bevel, Seam, Sharp and Freestyle Edge.
Setup Static Object is accessed through the Header menu under File > Export > Setup Static Object, and it also has a keymap in the 3D View under Object Mode using Alt + Ctrl + E. It is published under the GPL license, and documentation is available.
