In native Blender, extrude is often limited by the mesh and calls for extra steps to connect and delete geometry. Smart Extrude, from developer BlendR6, changes that by extruding in a way that ignores the mesh, making the operation simple and fast. It automatically eliminates double faces and unwelded issues common in traditional extrusions.
The addon works across face, edge and vertex modes. Its intelligent mode automatically detects Along Normal or Group Normal. Along Normal supports handling overlaps, Individual performs individual extrusion, and Group Normal is the default. Along Axis is activated by pressing X, Y or Z, and Edge Extrude Along Normal is also available. A comprehensive mode follows native operation logic with no learning cost.
Control follows the native operation method, using mouse control and keyboard input, plus snap on the B key and a Point-to-Point method tied to Along Axis. Preview options include Default Preview and Xray Preview. Smart Extrude is compatible with Blender 4.3 through 5.0 and is distributed under the GPL license.
