Speedtimize earns a place in the Superhive library by combining mesh checks, render presets and a turnaround rig in one Blender addon, with the LowHigh Renamer included.
Speedtimize collects a range of utilities for Blender aimed at speeding up and optimizing scene work. On the optimization side, it can select edge loops similar to those already selected up to a set count, color heavy meshes by face or vertex count so you can spot ones that need work, and check quads, tris, ngons, face normals and stats like vertex and face totals. It also assigns a custom checker material to inspect UV maps, and can show only the vertices or only the edges of a selected mesh.
Beyond inspection, Speedtimize handles setup and rendering. You can apply resolution presets, configure start and end frames, steps, transparency, motion blur and persistent data, add a chosen-color backdrop (single-side or rounded), place neutral lights, and build a camera rig for 360° turnaround animations. Clay override and wireframe render options are included, along with viewport overlay hiding and viewport render controls. Palette generation, single or ranged frame rendering, and a reset-and-purge option round out the set.
The package also bundles the LowHigh Renamer addon, which adds "_low" and "_high" suffixes to selected meshes and filters or selects them by those names.
Speedtimize is best for blender artists organizing scenes, optimizing meshes and setting up presentation or turnaround renders.
Speedtimize is completely free to download and use.
Speedtimize is a Blender extension and has been updated for compatibility across recent releases. Version 1.4 notes list compatibility with Blender 4.2 and later, and version 1.5 adds compatibility with 5.1 and up. The bundled LowHigh Renamer received Blender 4.3 compatibility in its own 1.3 update. For the current supported version range and any newer changes, check the developer's page and the updated documentation linked there before installing.
Speedtimize colors heavy meshes based on their face or vertex count so you can see which ones need optimizing, and it checks quads, tris, ngons and face normals along with stats such as the number of vertices and faces. It can also show only the vertices or only the edges of a selected mesh, and inspect UV maps using a custom checker material assigned to the selected meshes. A reset option can undo changes made with the plugin and purge the file.
Speedtimize includes the LowHigh Renamer addon at no extra cost. It automatically adds "_low" and "_high" suffixes to the names of selected meshes and lets you view only the meshes with "_low" or "_high" in their names, or both at once. Later renamer updates added select and deselect by those suffixes, an option to unhide all meshes from the viewport, and the ability to remove the "_low" and "_high" suffixes from selected mesh names.
Speedtimize is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so for the current cost, license details and any updated conditions, refer to the developer's page. The addon comes with updated documentation available at a link provided by the developer, and a demo video is also available, which is a good starting point for seeing what the toolset covers before you install it.
