Switcher Addon earns its place for bundling object swapping and material management into one add-on, with control over whether rotation and materials come along for the swap.
Switcher Addon swaps the places of two selected objects in Blender. It's useful when you want to replace an existing object with a newly added one, or when you want to switch an object's material.
With Keep Rotation enabled, each object keeps its own rotation after the swap; with it disabled, the objects take over the rotation of the objects they switch with. A material toggle decides whether materials switch along with the objects, and a Switch only material option exchanges the two materials without moving location or rotation. A Move to cursor command sends the selected object or objects to the 3D cursor location.
The add-on also groups several material tools. You can assign a listed material to selected objects, remove a specific material from selected objects, remove all materials from them, and delete a single material or every listed material from both the list and the blend file. It runs with Cycles and Eevee and is released under the GPL license.
Switcher Addon is best for blender users who need to swap object positions or materials and manage materials on selected objects.
Switcher Addon is completely free to download and use.
Switcher Addon lists compatibility with Blender versions 3.0 through 5.0 and is marked as Blender Extension compatible. That range covers a wide span of recent releases, so most current Blender setups should be able to run it. If you're on a version outside that range or want to confirm behaviour on a specific build, check the developer's page for the latest details before installing. Its material list handling was also updated to work correctly in Blender 3.6.
Switcher Addon is listed as working with the Cycles and Eevee render engines, the two engines that ship with Blender. Since the add-on focuses on swapping object positions, handling rotation, and managing materials rather than on rendering itself, it fits into either engine's workflow. If your project relies on a different render engine, review the developer's page to confirm how the material tools behave in that context before relying on them for your scene.
Switcher Addon is released under the GPL license, the same open-source license Blender itself uses. That means the add-on's source code is available under the terms of that license. For questions about how the GPL applies to your particular use, redistribution, or modification of the add-on, the developer's page and the license text are the best places to check the exact terms that apply to your situation.
Switcher Addon is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing and availability can change over time, so if you want to confirm the current terms, the developer's page is the place to check before downloading. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license, which governs how you can use and share it. Keep an eye on the developer's page for any updates to how it's offered and any changes to its terms.
Switcher Addon reached version 1.1, which fixed a problem where materials were not showing in the list in Blender version 3.6. The initial 1.0 release brought the core object-switching and material tools. If you're running Blender 3.6 and working with the material list, the 1.1 update is the one that addresses that specific display issue, so make sure you have the current version from the developer's page.
