Earns its place in the superhive library for handling timelapse capture entirely inside Blender, from background screenshots through to generating the final video from the image sequence.
Timelapse Tool is a Blender addon from Fwiller that records timelapse footage of a project in the background while you work. It can capture the entire project window at a fixed interval, or record from the perspective of a camera placed in the scene.
Beyond single-view capture, the addon records from cameras with animation keyframes and can capture from multiple cameras in the scene simultaneously. A Lock Shading option holds the viewport shading settings of the timelapse capture, and the tool can automatically generate a timelapse video from the recorded image sequence. Recent additions include Idle Detection, which captures an image only after a change is detected in the project, a JPEG file format option, and zero padding for image names.
Capturing Dyntopo is an experimental feature that must be enabled in the addon preferences. The addon requires Blender 3.0 or above; older versions are not currently supported, and Blender 4.0 support is in active development. This card reflects version 1.1.1.

The changelog also notes fixes tied to specific releases, including a repair for modal detection that was broken in Blender 3.5, so keeping to a supported version helps you avoid known issues.
Timelapse Tool lists Mac support as currently in progress. Some users have reportedly had no problems running it on their Mac device, but the developer notes it hasn't been thoroughly tested yet. If you work on macOS, it is worth treating Mac use as experimental for now and checking the developer's page for updates before relying on it for an important project. Being on a supported Blender version, 3.0 or above, also helps avoid unrelated issues.
Timelapse Tool treats capturing Dyntopo as an experimental feature. To record that data, you enable it in the addon preferences under the experimental settings for Dyntopo. Outside of that, the addon captures your project by taking screenshots of the entire project window at a fixed interval or by recording from the perspective of a camera in the scene, so Dyntopo capture is an additional option you turn on rather than the default behaviour.
