Working Pivot Placer is a simple script for 3ds Max that places the Working Pivot on a surface or by 1, 2 or 3 points.
The script ships with a Coordinates Shortcuts file containing three macros for fast coordinate switching. Coordinate Center Cycle steps through the three types of coordinate center, Coordinate System Cycle moves between View, Local and Working Pivot, and Coordinate System-Pick lets you pick an object to use as the coordinate system. The developer suggests assigning keyboard shortcuts to these macros, such as Alt+C, Alt+V and Alt+X.
Update 1.2 added a MacroScript to set the Working Pivot to a picked object's transform, triggered by the Working Pivot Placer button with Alt held. It also added a way to cycle between the Working Pivots used by the script, By Surface, By Points and By Object, via the button with Ctrl held or a shortcut assigned to Working Pivot Cycler.
