Zen Sets stands out in the superhive library for combining native Vertex Group and Face Map management with custom color-coded groups and a ZBrush-style Parts Mode. It supports Blender 3.6 through 5.1, is Blender Extension compatible, and is part of the Zen Bundle.
Zen Sets is a Blender add-on for creating, managing and visualizing native Vertex Groups, Face Maps and custom Zen Sets Groups built from Objects, Collections and Mesh Elements selection. It saves selections of Verts, Edges, Faces and Objects so they can be brought back at any time, and its Display System shows each Group and Collection by color in the Viewport and UV Editor.
Mesh elements can be organised in two modes: Sets Mode, where an element can belong to different Groups, and Parts Mode, where each element belongs to only one Group and behaves like a simulation of ZBrush Polygroups for selecting and hiding. An Auto Groups operator builds Groups from Type, Object Data, Library, linked Faces, Materials, Seams, Sharps, UVs and custom conditions, and a Workspace Tool switches between Zen Sets Groups.
Additional operators create Objects from Groups, assign Materials to Groups, set Sculpt Masks, and create Modifier Masks from Vertex Groups. Zen Sets also converts Collections to Empty objects and back while preserving hierarchy and positions, offers import/export between group types, batch renaming, and a Zen Sets API with examples. It supports Blender 3.6 through 5.1 under a GPL license.
Zen Sets is best for blender artists managing Vertex Groups, Face Maps and selection sets across objects, collections and mesh elements.
Zen Sets is completely free to download and use.
Zen Sets supports Blender versions 3.6 through 5.1 and is listed as Blender Extension compatible, so it can be installed as an add-on across that range. Because it works with native Vertex Groups and Face Maps alongside its own custom Zen Sets Groups, it fits into standard Blender workflows for organising mesh elements, objects and collections. For the current version and any version-specific notes, check the developer's documentation on the Zen Masters page.
Zen Sets is distributed under the GPL license, the same open license Blender itself uses, and it is listed as Blender Extension compatible. Licensing tiers for single users and studios are handled on the developer's page, and Zen Sets is also part of the Zen Bundle. For the exact terms that apply to your use, refer to the developer's page and documentation.
Zen Sets offers two modes for working with mesh elements such as verts, edges and faces. In Sets Mode, each element can belong to different Groups at once. In Parts Mode, each element belongs to only one Group, and this mode provides a simulation of ZBrush Polygroups behaviour for selecting and hiding Groups. A Workspace Tool lets you switch quickly between Zen Sets Groups while you work.
Zen Sets is listed as free here in our catalog. On the developer's page the add-on is offered through single-user and studio licensing, and it is also part of the Zen Bundle. Licensing options can change, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. Zen Sets is released under a GPL license and is Blender Extension compatible.
Zen Sets includes an Auto Groups operator that creates Groups automatically from Type, Object Data, Library, linked Faces, Materials, Seams, Sharps, UVs and custom conditions. Alongside it, the add-on provides operators to create Objects from Groups, assign Materials to Groups, set a Sculpt Mask to isolate Groups or a selection in Sculpt Mode, and create a Modifier Mask from Vertex Groups. Multi-object support applies across all the Groups.
