Why we like it

Rated 5 from 10 reviews, Baga Batch earns its place in the superhive library for turning scene collections, objects and materials into browsable library assets with rendered previews.

What is Baga Batch?

Baga Batch is a Blender add-on for creating asset previews and building asset libraries. It renders previews in Cycles or Eevee, with render times of roughly 0.5 to 1 second per asset depending on your PC power and settings. It supports rendering of Collections and Objects, covering both Mesh and Curves.

Assets are exported from your current blend file into individual .blend files, then placed in the asset library of your choice so they appear in the asset browser each time you open it. Collections, Objects and Materials are currently supported. When the default camera isn't sufficient, you can set custom orientations based on your 3D view.

The Replace Collection feature can export a collection as an asset and replace the current collection with a link to it, which optimizes your scene. Save Preview writes previews as PNG files to a folder of your choice for use outside Blender. It works with Blender 3.6 through 5.2 and is released under the GPL license.

Who is Baga Batch best for?

Baga Batch is best for blender artists who build and manage asset libraries and need rendered previews available in the asset browser.

Frequently asked questions

Which Blender versions does Baga Batch support?

Baga Batch requires a minimum of Blender 3.6, and its listing spans Blender 3.6 through 5.2. If you run a version inside that range, the add-on should be compatible. It has been published for over two years, so it covers a broad span of recent Blender releases. For the most current compatibility details and any version-specific notes, check the developer's page before installing so you know exactly what applies to your setup.

Which render engines does Baga Batch use for previews?

Baga Batch renders asset previews in either Cycles or Eevee, so you can pick the engine that matches your scene. Render time runs from roughly half a second to one second per asset, depending on your PC power and your chosen settings. When the default camera doesn't frame an asset well, you can set custom orientations based on your current 3D view, which gives you control over how each preview is composed before rendering.

Is Baga Batch free to use?

Baga Batch is listed as free here in the catalog, and it is distributed under the GPL license. Because pricing and licensing terms can change over time, check the developer's page for the current details before you download. The GPL license generally governs how the add-on can be used and redistributed. For any questions about licensing specifics, the developer's page and documentation are the best places to confirm what applies to your particular use.

Which asset types can Baga Batch export?

Baga Batch currently supports exporting Collections, Objects and Materials. Objects can be either Mesh or Curves. Each asset is exported from your current blend file into an individual .blend file and placed in the asset library of your choice, so it appears in the asset browser whenever you open it. The Replace Collection option can export a collection as an asset and swap the current collection for a link to that asset, which helps optimize your scene.
