CardCutter: Nanite-Ready Foliage Generator is a Blender addon from Philipp Russo that converts textures into clean, high-density 3D meshes. It targets environment artists and game developers, and was designed with Unreal Engine 5 in mind, bridging simple planes and heavy geometry.
The addon builds meshes that hug the exact outline of an asset, removing transparent pixels to reduce overdraw in game engines. Its High Quality Optimization mode produces the uniform, high-density triangulation that Nanite clusters need, and the dense geometry supports fluid vertex displacement for wind shaders without blocky artifacts.
Input works with black-and-white masks or Albedo/Diffuse textures carrying an alpha channel, in PNG, TIF, JPG, or TGA. Automatic atlas splitting detects multiple loose parts in a sheet and creates separate mesh objects, while Fast, Balanced, and High Quality presets set the density. It is optimized for solid, individual shapes; very complex, noise-heavy structures are best split into separate leaflets or simplified masks.
