Corner Sharpener 2D & 3D is a Blender add-on from Johnbogle that sharpens the corners of 2D and 3D objects placed under the subdivision modifier, taking just a few clicks. It automatically creates supporting edges and removes face edges, work that is otherwise done by hand with the knife tool. The add-on works best on convex surfaces.
Sharpening happens in Edit Mode. The 2D Sharpener runs in Vertex Mode and the 3D Sharpener in Edge Mode, and each corner vertex needs exactly three connected edges: two boundary edges and one face edge. If the face edge is missing, you inset the face or side face to create it. You then select the corners, choose "Sharpen It" under the "SharpCorner" tool, and slide the Factor value to control the amount of sharpening.
The add-on covers Blender 3.0 through 4.2 and is released under the GPL license. Version 1.0.0 introduced the 2D Sharpener, and version 2.0.0 added the 3D Sharpener. Demo videos are available.
