Cut List Add-On earns its place in the superhive library for pairing a CSV export with a separate viewport overlay, so part dimensions stay visible while you model.
Cut List Add-On exports part dimensions from your Blender models to a CSV file. The list records each part's name, quantity, X, Y and Z dimensions, angles, diameter and material. You can add parts into different collections or not, and the panel shows those collections when the Refresh button is pressed. Checking the box in front of a collection selects the mesh objects inside it, and unchecking deselects them.
In the export options you can rename the X, Y and Z header fields, so Section-X and Section-Y can read width, depth, thickness. Units are chosen from a dropdown, converting parts modelled in millimetres to inches or another selected unit, and you can set the storage path. On export, a window lets you add a custom name to the CSV. Identical parts are grouped together, differing parts are spaced apart, and round parts show a diameter when their name starts with 'Round'. The CSV can be imported into the free online tool CutList Optimizer.
A separate overlay shows the same header fields, part names and dimensions in the viewport, with adjustable position, font size, opacity and colour. Edge Banding can be included in the list, and documentation is provided.
Cut List Add-On is best for blender modellers who need to export part dimensions as a cut list, organised by collection, for CSV output or import into CutList Optimizer.
Cut List Add-On is completely free to download and use.
Cut List Add-On exports your part dimensions to a CSV file, and from version 2.0 that file can be imported into the free online tool CutList Optimizer. You can generate the default list or export a version formatted specifically for CutList Optimizer. Edge Banding, added in version 2.2, works for both the default list and the CutList Optimizer list, and board dimensions are adjusted automatically. When you export, a window appears with the choice to add a custom name that is included in the CSV file.
Cut List Add-On lists a diameter for round parts, but only when the part name starts with 'Round'. Without that prefix, the diameter value is not added to the list. Alongside the diameter, the CSV records each part's name, quantity, X, Y and Z dimensions, angles and material. Parts that share the same dimensions are grouped together, while parts differing by dimension or material are listed with clear spacing. You can also rename the X, Y and Z header fields in the export options to match the terms you use when modelling.
Cut List Add-On added support for OS and Linux in version 2.1, according to its changelog, alongside automatic sorting of labels based on the dimensions of the selected objects or collections. With that sorting enabled through a checkbox in the export options, the largest dimension is always assigned to the Length field and the smallest to the Thickness or Height field. For current platform and Blender version compatibility, check the developer's page, since that reflects the versions the add-on is confirmed to run on.
Cut List Add-On includes a viewport overlay that works independently of the CSV export. Press the toggle button and select an object or collection, and the same header fields appear in your viewport with the part names and dimensions. You can reposition the text using the Overlay X and Overlay Y controls, and adjust the font size, opacity and colour. Changing the units in the panel updates the overlay values, and those same changes appear in the CSV list when you do export it.
Cut List Add-On is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing terms, download details and any conditions of use, check the developer's page, since that reflects the most up-to-date information. The add-on comes with documentation, and a demo video is available if you want to see how it works before installing. Its features include CSV export of part dimensions, collection-based selection, unit conversion and a separate viewport overlay, all controlled from a panel in Blender.
