Dynamic Slice And Cap adds 3ds Max-style Slice and Cap Holes behaviour to Blender, letting you build architectural section models inside the app. It offers both a dynamic and a manual workflow. Slice provides Refine Mesh, Split Mesh, Remove Top, and Remove Bottom operations, while Cap Holes closes the resulting openings.
The add-on works with vertex groups and modifiers, and you can run individual operations for each object with multi-object support. It can create a material index and vertex groups for capped surfaces, smooth surfaces for section parts, and save your work in the .blend file. Results are animatable and renderable, including animated render support.
Dynamic Slice And Cap supports Blender versions 2.82 through 5.1 and is distributed under the GPL license. It has been used with render engines including Cycles, Eevee, Arnold, V-Ray, and Octane, among others. A demo video is available.
