Why we like it

FinalCheck earns its place in the superhive library as a pre-render safety net, rolling Blender's many viewport-versus-render visibility settings and easy-to-miss options into a single check. It's MIT-licensed and available in English and Japanese.

What is Finalcheck?

FinalCheck is a Blender addon from Omine built to catch project mistakes before you commit to a render. Open the Sidebar in the 3D Viewport, open the FinalCheck panel, and press Check; a list of problematic items appears, and you can fix problems at once.

The addon compares viewport and render visibility for collections, objects, instancers, and modifiers, and flags missing image files, an unset render region, Resolution% below 100%, and render samples lower than preview samples. It also checks particle emitter visibility, child amount, and viewport display amount, along with Grease Pencil modifiers and effects. A Preferences sub-panel lets you toggle which items are checked, with settings saved automatically, and you can limit checks to the current scene and view layer or run them across all scenes. Checking automatically when rendering is available too.

FinalCheck is compatible with Blender 2.90 or later, tested up to Blender 4.5.3 as of October 2025, and works with Cycles and Eevee. It's available in English and Japanese under the MIT license.

Frequently asked questions

Does FinalCheck work with Blender 4.5?

FinalCheck is compatible with Blender 2.90 or later, and as of October 2025 it has been tested up to Blender 4.5.3. The developer lists a supported range of Blender 2.9 through 4.5, and it works with both the Cycles and Eevee render engines. If you're running a newer build than the tested version, check the developer's page for the latest compatibility notes before relying on it for a final render.

How do I install FinalCheck?

FinalCheck installs as a downloaded zip file through Edit, Preferences, Add-ons, Install. You don't need to extract the zip first; point Blender at the file as it is. Once the addon is enabled, open the Sidebar in the 3D Viewport to find the FinalCheck panel, then press the Check button to list any problematic items. A Preferences sub-panel lets you toggle which items get checked, and those settings are saved automatically.

Is FinalCheck free to use?

FinalCheck is listed as free in this catalog, and it's distributed under the MIT license. The developer also offers it for download from Gumroad and GitHub. Because licensing and distribution terms can change, check the developer's page for the current details before you download. If you run into bugs or have an improvement in mind, the developer accepts feedback through GitHub Issues or Twitter.

Can FinalCheck run its checks automatically when rendering?

FinalCheck can run its checks automatically when you render, a feature the developer flags as new. For manual checks, open the Sidebar in the 3D Viewport, open the FinalCheck panel, and press Check to produce a list of problematic items. You can also choose the scope of a check, running it across all scenes or limiting it to the current scene and view layer only.

Why does a FinalCheck scan take a long time?

FinalCheck may take longer to run on complex files. The developer suggests reducing the number of check items from the preferences to speed things up. Checking image paths stored on network locations can also add time. Keep in mind that FinalCheck does not detect every problem, and its checks are based on the current frame, so they don't account for the state of other frames.
