Render Notify earns its place in the superhive library by covering both local desktop alerts and remote delivery through Discord and Pushbullet, with support spanning Blender 2.8 to 3.4.
Render Notify is a Blender addon built to let you know when a render finishes, so you don't have to keep watching your screen. Start the render and the addon handles the notification. It ships in two editions: Lite and Full.
Render Notify Lite delivers desktop notifications. Render Notify Full adds Discord and Pushbullet notifications on top of desktop alerts, plus a Fun mode. Discord delivery uses your Discord ID and a webhook URL, while Pushbullet delivery uses your Pushbullet access token, both entered in the addon preferences.
The addon installs through Blender's Preferences as a zip file and supports Blender versions 2.8 through 3.4 under a royalty-free license. It was not developed for Mac: the webhook and Pushbullet notifications work there, but desktop notifications do not. A Render Notify Enterprise edition with Slack and MS Teams integration is noted as coming soon.
Render Notify is best for blender users who want to be notified when a render finishes without watching the screen, including through Discord or Pushbullet with the Full edition.
Render Notify is completely free to download and use.
Render Notify lists compatibility with Blender versions 2.8, 2.81, 2.82, 2.83, 2.9, 2.91, 2.92, 2.93, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4, so Blender 3.4 is covered. The addon is distributed under a royalty-free license. If you're running a Blender release newer than 3.4, check the developer's page for the current supported range before installing, since the listed versions stop at 3.4.
Render Notify was not developed for Mac. On Mac, the Discord webhook and Pushbullet notifications do work, but the desktop notification does not. If you rely on desktop alerts specifically, that limitation applies to Mac systems, while the remote delivery methods in the Full edition remain functional. For desktop notifications, a non-Mac system is required, so plan your setup around which notification type you need.
Render Notify handles Discord notifications through the addon preferences. Toggle Discord notifications on, then enter your Discord ID and a webhook URL. Your Discord ID is found by enabling Developer Mode under Settings > Advanced, then right-clicking your avatar in a conversation and choosing Copy ID. The webhook URL comes from a server you administer, under Server Settings > Integrations, where you choose or create a webhook. Discord delivery is part of the Full edition.
Render Notify installs like a standard Blender addon. Open Blender, go to Edit > Preferences and the Addons tab in the left panel, then click Install at the top right and locate the addon's zip file. Once installed, open the addon preferences to toggle the notification methods you want, such as desktop, Discord or Pushbullet. Discord and Pushbullet each require their own credentials entered in those preferences.
Render Notify is listed as free in this catalog. It comes in two editions: Lite with desktop notifications, and Full, which adds Discord, Pushbullet and Fun mode, offered under a royalty-free license. For the current licensing terms and any differences between the editions, check the developer's page, since availability and terms can change over time. The royalty-free license noted here applies to the addon as published.
