IMEBridge is a lightweight add-on from Suenkanwei that bridges Blender and the system's native Input Method Editor, giving a natural Chinese input experience inside the application. Typing Chinese in Blender has historically been tricky: the system input method is often not triggered, the candidate box may not appear, and the candidate window frequently sits in screen corners rather than following the cursor. Forgetting to switch back to English after typing can also cause hotkeys like G, R, and S to behave unexpectedly.
Once installed, IMEBridge handles input methods in the background without changing your typing habits. The candidate window positions itself under the active text cursor in both the Text Editor and 3D Text editing modes. When the mouse leaves a text editing area, the extension switches the input context to English to protect Blender's native hotkeys, then restores your previous status when the mouse returns.
It works with Blender 5.0.x, 5.1.x, and 5.2.x on Windows x64 and macOS arm64 (Apple Silicon), and supports IMEs including Microsoft Pinyin, macOS Native IME, Sogou, Baidu, and Rime.
