Why we like it

Mass Keyframe earns its place for a focused, no-frills approach to keyframing several objects from the property right-click menu.

What is Mass Keyframe?

Mass Keyframe is a Blender extension by StratosDerg that adds support for animating properties of multiple objects at once. Written entirely in Python, it extends the right-click property menu so you can keyframe several selected objects together.

To use it, select the objects you want, then right-click a property. Two options appear: "Add Keyframe to Selected Objects" inserts a keyframe on every selected object with the active property, while "Duplicate Keyframe to Selected Objects" does the same but copies the value of the active object across the selection.

The current release, version 1.1.8, adds support for more properties, such as physics. It also carries a known issue where modifiers are not consistently compatible. Mass Keyframe is compatible with Blender 5.1 and newer, requires no special permissions, and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. Source and issue reporting live on the developer's GitHub page.

Who is Mass Keyframe best for?

Mass Keyframe is best for animating a shared property across many selected objects in Blender without keyframing each one separately.

How much does Mass Keyframe cost?

Mass Keyframe is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Does Mass Keyframe work with Blender 5.1?

Mass Keyframe lists compatibility with Blender 5.1 and newer, so it targets recent releases of the software. The current version is 1.1.8, and the extension requires no special permissions to run. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. For the exact supported versions, the latest release, and any changes, check the developer's GitHub page before installing so you know what to expect on your setup.

How do I add keyframes to multiple objects with Mass Keyframe?

Mass Keyframe works by first selecting the objects you want to animate, then right-clicking a property. From the menu you choose one of two options. "Add Keyframe to Selected Objects" inserts a keyframe on all selected objects with the active property. "Duplicate Keyframe to Selected Objects" inserts a keyframe on all selected objects while copying the value of the active object across the selection. Both run from the same right-click property menu, so the whole selection is handled in a single action.

Does Mass Keyframe work with modifiers?

Mass Keyframe has a known issue where modifiers are not consistently compatible, and this is noted with the 1.1.8 release. That version otherwise added support for more properties, such as physics. If your workflow depends on keyframing modifier properties across multiple objects, expect inconsistent behaviour for now and follow the developer's GitHub page for issue reports and future updates that may address it.

Is Mass Keyframe free to use?

Mass Keyframe is listed as free here in the catalog, and it is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. The extension requires no special permissions to install or run. For current licensing terms, the source code, and any details on how the GPL applies to your use, check the developer's GitHub page, where releases and issue reporting are also handled.
